OT: SQL Database Help
Hello,
For a while now I've run a few fan sites, I have a great deal
of experience with HTML, Java, Graphics design and other such stuff but
I am still having a lot of trouble with databases and automated access
for my sites, to that end I have sent this off topic plea.
I have a service provider that gives me CGI, Pearl, and ASP, I am
looking to set up a system of automatically generated indexes for my
site the After Image which after two years got to the point where it was
namely impossible to keep the categories (I.E Author, Title, Genre,
Rating) in a respectable order and it almost cost the site its life,
which is why I am looking into creating a online system for people to
access the fanfic in practically any way they want (I put a lot of
information in the headers of the fic I archive) but I need help.
I was hoping some on this list would be willing to get in touch with me
offlist and help me out, I am not asking you to do it for me since that
would defeat the purpose of me learning it but to help me get a handle
on it.
If you could help me I would be eternally grateful.
You can reach me at: axis@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx or on my ICQ UIN 35941679.
Later and sorry for taking up space on the list,
Andrew
