An overdue introduction and an insipid little poem

*a dark figure wearing a hooded cloak hiding his frizzy hair delurks on the 
edges of the Lists and looks about him, surverying all he sees.*

It was recently brought to my attention that I haven't properly introducted 
myself.

*steps into a sweeping bow with a flourish of his dark cape* *notices that 
no one cares, coughs and adjusts his collar*

I am Alan, the Mad Dragon -- a man of rather limited bardic talent. Despite 
that, I have been promoted from devoted fan to Kimber's Evil Collaborator.

And we warn you...Beware. The 'Roads' series is far from over.

And on that note...here is an insipid little poem that might whet your 
palate for what is to come...

give into gentle daydreams
of love's golden promises
softly whispering betrayals
of sweet silver secrets
conjuring hopes of perfection
walking beside you
hand-in-hand
with you; for you
- - needing you
wanting you
different times
different places
different roads

whimsical games the Fates play

holding yearning hearts apart
dangling impossibilities
of soulmates touching and touched

always and forever stretching lonely before them

the other there before them
just beyond

desperately grasping fingertips

walking away.

*looks over to Kimber conspiratorily and winks*

*grinning like the Cat that Ate the Canary, Kimber winks back, whispering* 
"Why did you warn them?"

*alan shrugs* " 'Cause I love the 'deer in the headlights expression as much 
as i'm gonna love the 'stunned flounder' expressions they'll have later."

*Kimber nods* "Good reason."
