Regarding all that region DVD crap.
There are a few options I've heard about.
One I know for sure is that you can get a Mod chip that will simply 
route around the area of the circut board that checks for that stuff. 
Course you got to find the chip and someone capable of installing it.

Also I heard some..rumors..legends? That..there was a trick you could 
do. From what I've heard(This is unsubstaianted) is that a DVD will 
'Switch' to a region after several DVD's of that type are 
played.(Three or four I think.) After that it locks onto those type 
only. But I also heard that early DVD's did not have that tech and 
were pretty much open eneded. There was also mention of a trick to 
'fool' the later models into thinking they were still in the 
'Pre-Switch' stage for all time. But I have no real advice on that.

Personally that's why I stick with DVD Roms, depending on the software 
you use, that's the region you can use. You got all the software, you 
got all the regions. I think.
