OT: That's much better
Michael,
Well, if it's only the first two seasons that's much better. "Becoming,
Part 2" should air Thursday, November 8th, so I can deal until then.
And no Christmas gifts--Jewish pride thingie. Hey, at least it keeps
me out of the stores (I don't know how people who have to do that whole
list thing do it.)
On the other hand, this means that if I treat myself I don't have to
wait until 12/25 to open them. Cool.
Thanks,
Dan.
Hey, let's try and guess the FX airdates for all the key eps! Just
assuming a September 24th start, 5 shows a week, and no interruptions,
we get:
"Angel" (#7): Tuesday, October 2--tune from there to the Season 6
premiere.
"Prophecy Girl" (#12): Tuesday, October 9
"School Hard" (1st Spike) (#15): Friday, October 12
"What's My Line, Part 2" (first X/C kiss) (#22): Tuesday, October 23
"Suprise/Innocence" (#s 25-26) Friday, October 26, and Monday, October
29.
"Passion" (#29) Thursday, November 1
"Becoming, Parts 1 &2" (#s33-34) Wednesday-Thursday, November 7-8
"Faith, Hope, & Trick" (#37) Tuesday, November 13
"Revelations" (#41) Monday, November 19
"Amends" (for the B/A shippers-Buffy's speech) (#44) Thursday, November
22
--except that's Thanksgiving and FX likes to run special marathons and
stuff then, so that may muck up the schedule, so I won't go any farther.
Bye.

frodoze is correct on all counts. The region 1 Buffy DVDs are supposed (emphasis on "supposed") to be available shortly after FX finishes airing the first two seasons of episodes in syndication. Assuming a 5 day a week run, they should be available before Christmas so if you have anybody buying you gifts that understands your Buffy obsession, let them know.
I've been told that 1st generation DVD players will play all regions but that later models must have the chips replaced, etc. to be able to do this (and some models can't be altered). Occasionally you can find 1st gen players on EBay. I'm just biding my time waiting for the US release (and cursing the UK and Australia under my breath). Of course, those folks'll tell you that it's only fair that they get the DVDs first since we get the episodes first. Michael

no R2 wont play on R1 dvd players, you need to have either a player
that can be region unlocked by the remote control or with third party
mod chip.
the other problem you might have is that region 2 and 4 dvds are
encoded in Pal not NTSC, if you have a reasonably new tv then that
should not be problem.
I think I read the reason that Buffy is not dvd in the USA yet is
because it is still being syndicated by your networks
