Re: FIC: Immortal Pair bk2 ch1

Notes on travelling with swords, just FYI.

Airlines don't care if you check a sword with baggage in a sealed container,
sealed meaning plenty of packing tape. Bus lines also don't care. However,
because of the size and shape, swords checked as luggage will often be
mistaken for cargo, unloaded to the cargo dock, and it will take a couple of
days for some poor airport or bus station customer service shmuck to track
them down. Happened to me repeatedly. Getting the papers to carry them on
is much wiser if you actually need to have the sword when you arrive or the
blade is valuable. Customs doesn't care if you bring a packed sword across
the border from Mexico to the US. I wouldn't try it with one that's not
packed without paperwork. Cops don't generally care if you have one in your
car, as long as you don't get out and walk around with it. Cops get more
uptight about daggers, since they are more likely to actually be used to
commit a crime. Same rules apply for battle axes.

Now you can all stop looking at me like that. I collect and bring blades
home from wherever I bought them.
