FF: Kryptonite Repost (2/?)

Title:	Kryptonite (2/?)

Author: Carmen

E-mail: ortiz_c4021@h...

Disclaimer: None of these characters belong to me. The Scooby Gang
and
friends belong to Joss Whedon and Mutant Enemy. All characters from
the DCU
do not belong to me I'm just taking out for a ride through my twisted
imagination, Adrienne Mackenzie Kent-Prince is mine.

Rating: For now PG-13 to R depending on your point of view.

Summary: In the DCU eighteen years ago during a battle with Darksied,
a
strange and mysterious anomaly occured , unleashed by an experiment
by
Julian September at a critical time and out of this anomaly was born
a child
to two of the most powerful heroes of the JLA, now attending UC
Sunnydale,
she will become the Slayers greatest ally.

Author's Note: This is really more of a Faith/Other romance with
Buffy/Willow pairing as well. Faith redeemed herself and is still
part of
the Scoobies in my story. Also I've messed with the timeline on a
lot of
stuff. Joyce Summers lives!!!

Distribution: I like sharing, just give me a heads up.

Feedback? Yes please!!

Previously

The two Slayers stood in awe as they saw the figure leap into the
air, sure
there were super heroes in the world saving people form disasters and
aliens, but they fought against the forces of hell and right now what
they
saw they still couldn't believe.

"Hey Buffy," Willow called out followed by the others, "what
happened?"

"Whoever that was just flew away," Buffy said.

"Flew?" Xander asked.

"Yeah, you know up, up, and away, flew," Faith said still looking to
the
skies.

"Bloody hell!" Spike cursed, "Now what?"

"We can't do anything," Giles said, "at least not until we know who
we're
dealing with, but for now we have more important things to worry
about, such
as the new prophecy."

"You know what Giles, one of these days I'm gonna find the guys that
make
all the end of the world prophecies and kick their butts!!" Buffy
fumed.

They left the clearing and headed off to the opposite direction, this
time
the didn't noticed the figure standing in the shodows who's eyes
glowed red.
He turned and headed off campus.

Mac glanced at him seeing him clearly and not liking what she saw,
she had
used an old magicians trick on the two Slayers letting them see what
the
wanted to, her flying away, what they didn't see was her return as
she
hovered behind a tree out of sight from the new hidden figure.

So much for a nice normal town.

Kryptonite part 2

Mac had flown to Gothem, and paid Oracle a visit. She asked for help
in the
form of using her computer and making new adjustment to her own lap-
top.
That night had been an eye opener and she wasn't quite sure what to
make of
it.

Whatever was going on she wanted as many facts as possible before she
did
anything.

She found herself hacking into a database that had nearly everything
the
occult had to offer. Information on Slayers, Demons, Vampires,
Witches and
so on.

She even learned from their records about what had transpired at that
little
town since Buffy had moved there.

Mac had been there for over five hours, if she didn't leave soon
she'd miss
out on catching any sleep, she had enough information for now, and
whatever
she'd need later she'd find later with her own PC.

"So you gonna tell me what this is all about?" Barbara Gordon, former
Batgirl known as Oracle asked.

"Yeah, I just stumbled on a world of vampires, demons, and everything
that
goes bump in the night, and the only thing standing between us and
hell on
earth is a bunch of college kids, and two Slayers."

"Huh?"

"I think I know what it is I want to do," she said.

"What?"

'There are more things Horatio,' Barbara thought, she herself had
seen many
things but nothing like that, but she could accept anything these
days.

"Help them."

As she was leaving Barbara stopped her giving her a comm-link telling
her
that she made it especially for her, it was a strictly two way, for
the two
of them.

The next morning Mac rolled out of bed, her dreams had been troubled
by the
doubts that were plaguing her mind, should she reveal her powers, her
heritage, or should she try to pass as a normal human who stumbled
onto
them, whatever it would be she would be apart of this fight, even if
she had
to once again watch from the shadows.

'Thank the Bat,' she thought ruefully.

The day progressed and she still didn't know how to approach her two
friends. Finally she just followed them as soon as her last class
for the
day was done, they lead her to an apartment building where she saw
the man
named Giles open the door for them.
--------------

Knock, knock, knock.

"I've got it," Willow said.

Willow opened the door to find Faith standing there holding doughnuts.

"Xander and Anya have the other ones," she said entering the
apartment.

"Okay," Willow said, "we're just getting ready for another research
session."

Closing the door the two made their way to the living room and
settled down
in the midst of various musty old books. Just minutes after Xander
and Anya
arrived with the rest of the food, another knock was heard.

Answering it Buffy was surprised to find Mac standing outside with
her hands
in her jacket pockets, shifting nervously.

"Mac," Buffy said too cheerfully, "what are you doing here?"

"Uh, well I couldn't find you guys at the library, and so I asked um,
Tara
and she told me you'd be here," well it wasn't a lie she had turned
chicken
and flown back to campus running into Tara and it just kinda came out
that
she was looking for her friends.

Hearing Tara confirm their location she thought she might as well
follow
through, so here she was, one of the most powerful metas in the world
scared
out of her mind.

"Oh well we're um," Buffy drew a blank.

"Researching?" Mac supplied.

"How did you know," Buffy said glancing behind her.

"Mind if I come in?"

"Sure," Buffy replied moving aside.

"Lucky guess by the way," looking in the living room she saw everyone
sitting looking through very old books.

Moving towards the books she caught glimpses of the titles, the few
of some
books actually had. Picking one up she opened it and began to flip
through
speed reading.

"So what are you looking for?" she asked.

"Um well," Giles said from his perch, "the Sect of Cryydonn."

"Not in this book," she said simply, putting it back.

"How did you?" Xander asked.

"It's a gift, plus it was in Greek, my mother and grandmother taught
me."

"But that's ancient Greek," Willow said.

"I know, I read both among other things."

Pausing and getting a good look at the group she took a deep breath
and
began, "Guys, I got something to tell you."

"Bloody Hell!!" Spike yelled as he came out from the basement.

"Spike! What are you yelling about?"

"You wankers move I'm missing Passions!" he said as he kicked books
out of
the way and plopped himself down in front of the TV.

"A vampire who likes Passions, now I've seen some strange things
before but
nothing like this," Mac said.

"Vampire, what vampire, we don't know any vampires," Willow babbled.

"Willow, I know," Mac said looking at each of them in the eye, "I
know
everything, the Slayers, the Council, Ascension, Master, I know."

"How did you find out?" Buffy asked.

Now for the half-truths.

"I had my suspicions, but it was when I looked at the towns records
and
talked to some people they told me certain things that didn't fit,
phrases
like `Chosen One', `Slayer', and some other things, so I looked in
the web
and hacked into the Council's records."

"So now what, you know what are you gonna do?" Anya asked.

"I never thought I'd be doing this, but I'd like to help, if you'd
let me."

For a few moments everyone was silent, then Buffy spoke.

"This is dangerous, we, me and Faith didn't ask for this to happen to
us, to
get `Chosen' and I wish to God sometimes that I never put my friends
in this
kind of danger, but I've argued this with them time and time again,
and each
time they've humbled me by choosing what I wish I could walk away
from. I
don't know what to tell you."

"How `bout a trial run, heck even the JLA lets people to prove
themselves,
let me prove I can help, please."

"What do you guys think?" Buffy asked turning to the gang.

They looked among themselves and nodded in agreement, "Yeah, give her
a
chance."

"Well, looks like your in," Faith said, cocking her eyebrow, "you
might
change your mind after researching though."

Smirking Faith turned back to the book she held as everyone did the
same.
Sitting down among the Scoobies Mac began to skim through the books,
this
time taking more time and actually looking through the information.

Faith watched the new Scooby out of the cormer of her eye, she
definately
liked what she saw; tall, rich black hair, and the most intense blue
eyes
she had ever seen in her life. But there was no way the new girl
would be
interested, she's a stick driver that one. Groaning out of
fustration and
bordom she turned back to her book and continued looking through for
anything so they could finish.

After three hours nearly all the books had been looked through when
Mac
suddenly asked, "Giles, what do you know about the Sect so far?"

"Oh well the Sect originated in Ireland long before the man you know
as St.
Patrick stepped foot and began a reign of terror throughout the Isle,
they
sacrifice young men and women, always between the ages of 17 and 28
to a
demonic force no one in our time knows the name of, their only
purpose on
this earth is to open a sleeping hellmouth, which as you may know
lies under
what was Sunnydale High, and bring about the Apocalypse."

"Hmm, well how about I go on a food run?" she asked.

"Sure thing," Faith said, "I'm starving."

"I'd give anything for some Chinese," Willow said sighing.

"Yeah well by now it's closed, so anything you bring will be fine,"
Buffy
said.

"Sure thing," Mac said walking out of the apartment.

"Hey did anyone else realize that she just walked out there without
protection?" Anya asked.

Springing into action the two Slayers ran to the door, as they
opened it
they looked around and couldn't see her.

"Come one guys, she learned alot before coming here to ask to join, I
think
she's fine," Xander said, "uh not that she's fine, she's okay, yeah
okay,
that's what I meant to say."

"Xander, we got it."
---------------

"Hey Babs," Mac said into her link.

"Adrienne, what's going on?"

"Could you do me a favor?"

"Sure thing what do you need?"

"Can you get in contact with Dr. Fate for me, I need some
information."

"Dr. Fate? What are you getting yourself into Adri?" Babs asked
worried
about her young friend.

"You saw what I was looking at last night right?"

"You know me too well, but what's that got to do with..."

"Everything, Babs," Mac cut her off, "it's true it's all true, look I
know
that you might not believe me but I need to get some information or
else my
new friends could get into some serious trouble."

"Okay I'll get him, what so you need?" Barbara asked relenting, and
knowing
from experience that somethings just shouldn't be questioned.

"I need all the information he has involving the Sect of Cryydonn,
and any
and all prophecies that involve them."

"Okay you got it, what's that background noise?" she asked hearing
Chinese
in the background.

"Oh, I'm just getting some take-out, call me on my cell okay, later
girlfriend."

Knocking at the door Mac waited for someone to answer as she held and
balanced various containers in her arms. Faith answered this time a
look of
surprise crossing her face as she saw all the containers Mac was
holding.

"Delivery!" Mac called out with a grin on her face.

Buffy and Xander rushed to the door, one to check on her friend and
the
other out of hunger.

Minutes later they distributed the food no one was left empty handed.

"I wasn't sure what you guys wanted so I just asked for different
things, I
hope that's okay?"

"God yes!" Xander said, "You're a hero."

If Mac had been drinking something she might have choked, as it was
she
simply paused what she was doing for a second.

"Rriight."

"So where did you get this anyways?" Faith asked.

"Let's just say that, I'm gifted," she grinned.

When the phone in Giles apartment rang and Giles answered Mac's cell
phone
rang.

"Hello?" Mac said into her phone.

"Adrienne, listen Dr. Fate said he'd call your friend himself, so he
should
be calling any time now."

"Yeah," Mac said tuning into Giles' conversation after confirming
what Babs
had said she turned back to the cell, "Thanks, I'll call you later
okay?"

"Sure."

Putting her cell away she continued to eat while Giles was talking
and
writing various notes, minutes later he hung up and turned to the
gang.

"It seems we were very fortunate, a contact I haven't heard from in a
long
time just called with information on the Sect, we know what their
next move
is, and we also know how to defeat them."

"Funny how this happened to quickly after you joined," Spike said
looking at
Mac.

Faith and the Scobies turned her attention to Mac as soon as they
heard him
say that.

"Gee, thanks now I'm a frickin' good luck charm."

Willow and Xander laughed and Buffy turned back to Giles. Faith and
Spike
kept their attention on Mac as she also turned her attention to what
Giles
had to say.

`Damn, this can't be good,' Mac thought hoping that Spike would drop
it.

Again her cell rang and she answered it, "Hello?"

"Hi honey."

"Mom!"

"Hey I missed you, would it be alright if I visit?"
