FF: Kryptonite Repost (5/?)
Title: Kryptonite (5/?)
Author: Carmen
E-mail: ortiz_c4021@h...
Disclaimer: None of these characters belong to me. The Scooby Gang
and
friends belong to Joss Whedon and Mutant Enemy. All characters from
the DCU
do not belong to me I'm just taking out for a ride through my twisted
imagination, Adrienne Mackenzie Prince-Kent is mine.
Rating: For now PG-13 to R depending on your point of view.
Summary: In the DCU eighteen years ago during a battle with Darksied,
a
strange and mysterious anomaly occurred , unleashed by an experiment
by
Julian September at a critical time and out of this anomaly was born
a child
to two of the most powerful heroes of the JLA, now attending UC
Sunnydale,
she will become the Slayers greatest ally.
Author's Note: This is really more of a Faith/Other romance with
Buffy/Willow pairing as well. Faith redeemed herself and is still
part of
the Scoobies in my story. Also I've messed with the timeline on a
lot of
stuff. Joyce Summers lives!!!
Extra Author's Note: Things are gonna move faster.
Distribution: I like sharing, just give me a heads up.
Feedback? Yes, please!!

Previously on Kryptonite....
Aparently there were lots of couples in the house tonight the dance
floor
was packed, everyone dancing intimately.
The song ended and four more sung other more up-beat songs. Finally
not
being able to put off talking to the gang anymore, Adrienne made her
way to
the table. When they were through they waited during the break for
another
chance.
"So what did you guys think?"
"You were great," Willow said.
"Thanks. I'll have to remember to thank Kyana, one of my teachers
from the
Island," she said as if talking about her other life was a normal
thing.
"What did she teach?" Xander asked.
"Music. Hey guys, look I know that you guys are a bit uncomfortable
with me
right now but you guys are my friends, I want you to know that I'm
here if
you still want me."
"Look, Adrienne," Buffy began, "it's just gonna take a little time to
get
used to it okay, I mean hey we have Slayers, witches, and ex-
vengeance
demons here, you'll fit right in."
"Thanks."
Now on Kryptonite??
"So," Glory said to her visitor, "the Slayer's got a new friend, hmm
such a
rude one. She didn't even introduce us, I guess I'll just have to
introduce
myself. Plus if that little super twit thinks that she can protect
the
Slayer and keep the key away form me well.."
"There may be a better way," a male voice said.
"To what?" Glory said irritably.
"For both of us to get what we want," he said, "you want the Key, I
want the
girl's power to me mine."
"I can live with that," she said, "not that they will."
Minutes after he disappeared a shadowy figure emerged from the hall,
he said
nothing but left with a satisfied smirk on his face. The book was
correct
everything was going according to plan, soon he would have no more
use for
his charade.
---------------------------------
3 weeks later
JLA Watchtower
"What did Waverider want?" Diana asked Batman.
He was currently sitting in front of the monitors watching for signs
of any
disturbance.
"Nothing," he said which was partly true.
"Why am I finding that hard to believe," she said.
"I wouldn't know, he wants us to leave him and his Linear Men alone,
they,"
he paused, "they have everything under control."
"And where will they be, if they want us to steer clear," she asked.
He didn't answer, if he did that would mean interfering, he was shown
what
would happen and what was needed.
"Batman?"
"I can't say Princess," he said effectively ending their conversation.
Diana trusted Batman, she trusted Bruce; as two sides of the same
coin they,
he was honorable to the extreme, but she couldn't help feeling like
someone
had just walked over her grave. Turning to leave she looked back
hoping
everything would be alright.
"Clark asked about Adrienne, by the way," he said.
"Oh, did he say why?"
"He and Lois are planning on visiting, he wanted to know if there was
something he should know about her friends," he said knowing through
Barbara
the unusual-ness of the group.
"Only that they can be trusted, with the truth," she said leaving
Batman to
his thoughts.
--------------------------------
It had been three weird and amazing weeks, while she still hadn't
gotten up
the courage to ask Faith out they had never the less become closer.
After a
shooting incident at Faith's hotel Adrienne had convinced her to move
elsewhere, that being with Mrs. Summers though after a really late
night
slayage she would sometimes end up spending the night with Adrienne.
Like now Faith was trying to convince Adrienne that this time she
should get
the bed, after all every time she had spent the night she was always
talked
into sleeping on the bed.
"You're making me feel bad," Faith said for the second time.
"I thought it was the whole bad girl image," Adrienne replied
unconvinced.
"Hey! There's a difference between out there and behind closed
doors," she
said.
"So, behind closed doors you're what? Some kind of softy cheerleader
in a
closet or something?" Adrienne grinned hoping to get Faith riled up.
She couldn't help herself, Faith turned all sorts of nifty colors and
she
looked so darn cute trying to come up with a comeback. Noticing the
answering machine blinking she crossed the room leaving Faith to her
own
devices.
"Hey sweetheart," her father's voice said from the machine, "I need
to know
if it'll be okay for me and Lois to visit, I mean if you don't mind
and all,
I'll be waiting for your call, bye."
Shaking her head she smiled tenderly at her fathers words, she loved
him but
sometimes he was so clueless, of course when ever the two could come
would
be perfect.
"That your dad," Faith asked from behind her.
"Oh yeah, wait till you guys meet him, he's old fashioned but still
cool."
"So what next, second cousins?" Faith asked flopping on the bed.
Hey if she really didn't want it, it was fine with her. She might as
well
be comfortable.
"Not really, a clone and someone from an alternate dimension who is
currently an Earth-bound angel," Adrienne answered.
Sitting up Faith looked at her not quite sure how she should ask her
question.
Seeing Faith's expression Adrienne called out, "Earth to Faith, come
in
Faith. I was telling the truth, by the way."
"Geez, talk about family reunions," Faith said.
"That's nothing, as soon as I finish college I get to choose whether
or not
to join the superhero community, then it'll be JLA meetings, and
those
suckers are weekly or something last time I checked."
"So how come you aren't a superhero out flying and saving lives right
now?"
Faith asked.
"Honestly, it wasn't until I saw you guys that I realized that it
really was
a part of me," Adrienne said, "you see I've been surrounded by the
notion
that except for those who train themselves into the ground, most
normal
humans don't go out trying to save the world."
"We're not that normal," Faith interjected.
"Compared to people I know, even Slayers with their strength and
healing are
normal. Hell against the Bat one on one, you'd still lose, he'll be
more
broken and bloody than when he went after Bane, but you'd still lose."
"Gothems' Bat?"
"Oh yeah, plus I'm sure that the Black Canary or Batgirl could teach
you
guys a thing or two. Look, the thing is that you guy are the real
deal,
yeah the villains my parents fight make headlines, but you guys fight
and,
this is gonna sound real bad but, you really get nothing but tommorow
to
show for it."
"Good thing they didn't sell that to us, we'd have quit," Faith said.
Sitting down at her desk Adrienne continured, "I'm the daughter of
two of
the most powerful superheroes the world has ever known, and frankly I
think
the world can do without me flying around in some skin-tight flashy
suit
with a silly name."
"But you'd be saving lives," Faith pointed out.
"Lives that won't be saved the next time these people to out at night
and
find no one out there to stop the vamps and demons from killing them
out in
the open, face it, except for the Bat and his 'agents' very few
heroes
actually go out at night and none go looking for these guys. They
look for
drug dealer and thugs, and other scum which is good; but they over
look the
evil that doesn't wear a human mask because it knows they don't
believe."
"Geez you put a lot of thought into this, I hope you didn't get
hurt," Faith
said grinning.
"Go ahead and laugh, at least you don't have a ready made outfit
waiting for
you at home or where ever if you change your mind."
"Oh an outfit, do I get a sneak peek?"
"Not even if you payed me," Adrienne replied.
"Why? Is it bright red, or looks like your mom's?"
"First off, my friend has that role, and second I wouldn't be caught
dead in
anything bright colored."
"So it's a darker costume?" Faith said moving to where Adrienne was
standing.
"You could say that, a family friend helped in designing and creating
it,"
Adrienne answered.
"So what's wrong with it, hmm?" Faith asked moving even
closer, "Doesn't
cover much?"
Standing and facing Faith Adrienne replied, "No I covers well, I just
don't
like it, call it a gut feeling, but there's something missing, I
don't think
I'm either ready or was really meant for it."
"Oh?"
Reaching out before she knew what she was doing Adrienne tucked
Faiths' hair
behind her ear and placed her hand at her nape. Moving closer she
unconsciously licked her lips.
'Oh this is a bad idea,' Adrienne thought.
"You know," she said conversationally, "one of these days I'm going
to have
to take you to the island."
"The island?" Faith asked confused.
"Themyscria," Adrienne said, "the Amazon Nation. They have the most
beautiful land I've seen, it's peaceful when the two tribes aren't
arguing,
but I think you'll fit right in Arts' tribe."
Beep beep.
Stepping away from Faith she searched through her desk for the comm.
"Hello?"
"You busy?"
Glancing at Faith she replied, "You don't call unless it's important."
Barbara grimaced into the headset, 'I'll pay you back, promise.'
"I need you to make a delivery, she'll be ready for pickup in two
minutes."
"I'll be there in a few, bye."
"Bye."
Looking apologetically at Faith she said, "I've got to go," she
paused, "You
know in all the time I've known you I've noticed that you've never
talked
about boyfriends, why is that?"
"I like to alternate," Faith replied saucily, "plus most guys are
more
interested in fucking than dating, so we usually skip that."
Without hesitating Adrienne asked, "So you free tomorrow night?"
