A short and (hopefully) humorous look at the history of 'The Shipper Wars'
In the beginning there was a God (Joss) who had a dream. A dream that into
each
Generation a Slayer is born, one girl in all the world, a Chosen One, one
born with the strength and skill to hunt the vampires. Her name; Buffy.
And lo there was a movie based on the God's dream. But God was not happy with
what he saw. The waters had become muddied with studio interference and the
foul stench of Luke Perry. So God went unto WB and told them:
"I have a dream!"
And the dream became reality.
Thus began the greatest series of conflicts ever witnessed.
The Shipper Wars.
The first episode begat many ships, but the most powerful of these were B/A,
B/X, and W/X.
Throughout the first season there was many a great battle between these
powerful foes. But yea by seasons end B/A enjoyed the fruits of victory,
though the wars were far from over.
The change of seasons brought new hope for W/X and B/X, but was dealt a blow
by a new entity - C/X.
B/A saw what was happening to its rival B/X and made much merry. But too much
merry was made by B/A and they were struck down by a curse from God. Locked
in mortal combat with C/X, B/X saw the curse as a sign of their impending
ascension. Further hope was raised by the entry of the entity known as W/O,
which in concert with C/X, cast W/X into the dungeons of darkness to be
tormented night and day.
B/X did conspire and plot against B/A. Lo the time came to pass at seasons
end that B/A was sucked into the neither regions of hell.
Season three was a season of great destruction. Lifted from the fires of
hell, B/A gained new hope. W/X, long tortured and imprisoned by C/X and W/O,
burst forth from its chains and did strike down upon them with great
vengeance and furious anger, those who had attempted to poison and destroy
W/X. C/X was slain and W/O badly injured. Further wounded by the flicker of
F/X, W/X faded into a spectre that would haunt W/O till its dying day.
B/A, forever wounded by the curse, was mortally wounded at seasons end by the
great shift by another dream of God.
Season three was also a season of great foreshadowing for the fourth.
B/X, once again filled with renewed hope was dealt a double blow. X/A (we of
course speak of the former vengeance demon, not the cursed vampire. God,
while cruel, is not THAT cruel) and then B/R.
B/R did inspire great rebellion throughout heaven and much wailing and
gnashing of teeth. Bitter enemies did enter into an unholy alliance to slay
the new entity. The brief appearance of V/O did kill W/O, but affected not
the greater battle.
Amidst the great conflict there arose a new entity; W/T. The elder of the
Order of Scooby did surmise well with his immortal words "BLOODY HELL!!!"
The fifth season saw the great conflict come to the climatic conclusion. B/R
was torn from the heavens and cast into the pits of hell where it will burn
forever and ever.
And there was much rejoicing.
Now, as season six is upon us, there reign three great powers. B/S, X/A, and
W/T. But God doth have evil plans afoot to trouble the reigning three. Ghosts
of ships past and future darken the horizon with their presence. Great peals
of thunder and flashes of lightning do much to make the people quake in fear
and anticipation. "Who, oh Lord," they cry out "Shall win final victory in
these our Shipper Wars?"
High above it all, God does nought but smile.
