Snippet: Spik thinks I should finish this...

... I just wrote it because I was bored, but Spik thinks I should do
something with it.

--

Buffy sat alone in the graveyard, keeping a silent vigil.
"Hey," Spike's voice called out from behind her. "Want a drink?"
"A world of no," Buffy replied out of habit.
Spike sat down beside her. "You can't keep doing this to yourself.
You can't... give in to the darkness."
Buffy looked up from the gravestone in front of her. "That's a bit
rich, coming from you."
"But its true." Spike took a swig from his bottle. Crimson marred
his frosty cheek.
"Gross," Buffy pointed out.
Spike shrugged. "Whatever. Its only cow's blood."
"And that makes it less gross?" Buffy asked.
Spike stared forlornly at the grave. "She isn't coming back, you
know."
"I know," Buffy replied quietly. "I could have helped her."
"Maybe," Spike conceded. "You could have smacked her about a bit.
Well, a lot. Gotten her to see sense."
Buffy stared.
"Well, what else could you have done? Why do you think Giles left
for England? He drove himself insane leaving his blessed duty behind
to try and find a cure for her."
Buffy nodded. "And I was too blind to see, locked up in my misery."
Spike gave her a quick glance. "Don't you dare bloody sing."
"Wouldn't dream of it."
"Whatever." Spike frowned. "Did you feel that?"
"What?" Buffy's usual non-existant patience gave her voice a waspish
tone.
"Bloody hell!"
The ground in front of Willow Rosenberg's grave undulated.
"What's happening?" Buffy asked as she backed away.
"Like I know." Spike turned to run further away, and stopped at the
sight of a woman hovering above the tombs. "Well, actually, maybe I
do."
Buffy looked at what had captivated Spike's attention.
"Oh," she said.
Tara floated, her eyes fixed on the undulating earth. "Erata
peremur, despiritus sancto perdita eramus..."
Spike shook his head. "This could be bad," he claimed.
"How bad?" Buffy asked. "Like, on a scale of one to ten?"
Spike thought. "It depends on whether she's any more powerful a
witch than she used to be. If she's not, we'd better be elsewhere."
Tara screamed as primordial energy coruscated through her. "Warrior
of the people, let her cross over!"
"There could be snakes," Spike warned.
