Re: Listmom's request for Spoiler Space
Kimber (and/or Rod),
Okay, I'm confused, and since it was my review that started this
discussion, I may as well be the one to ask for a clarification.
It was my understanding that an episode became fair game for
spoiler-space-free discussion one week after its first U.S. airing.
Therefore "Wrecked" has been in play since December 4th.
Likewise, speculations about the future are allowed, as long as they are
based on your own thoughts and not facts or rumors about the future that
you may have heard elsewhere. This excepts interviews that Joss or
others may have given (to the accredited press, not "I heard Joss
said"), because those are presumably statements he wants the audience to
play with, so there's nothing wrong with sharing them. So I don't think
I'd need spoiler space to wonder how Joss's stated theme for the season
(which I won't mention here, just in case) fits in with the aired eps
and what it might portend.
On the other hand, the promo for "Gone" only aired on Tuesday, thus I
set that off with spoiler space.
So that's my current understanding of spoiler space. If I'm wrong,
please let me know.
Yes, I could err on the side of caution and slap the spoiler space on
willy-nilly, but that might make someone who was concerned about
avoiding spoilers skip a post that didn't actually include any. So I'd
like to be as precise as possible.
Thank you very much for your time.
Dan
