Faith said damn that sounds like fun i wish i could join you and 
the others who are going to take part in the gauntlet.Nikon Carstairs
said oh you can i will just have to find someone to stand in the 
other line opposite you.Willow said Faith its not a good idea for 
you to take part in the gauntlet.Faith said why is it a bad idea for 
me to take part in the gauntlet.Buffy said Faith have you forgotten 
that after the last prank you pulled on Quentin he went before the 
watcher's triumverate to try to get them to approve of your 
elemination.Faith said no i remeber that but your right he will 
probably think i had something to do with it and the worst thing i 
can do is to let him see me he will definitely know i had a hand in 
this.

When Natalie drove her car into the Raven's parking lot she saw 
Michelle sitting in the driver's seat of her Masarriti and there was 
a guy standing several feet from the car.Natalie parked her car in 
the parking space right next to the one Michelle's car was in.As 
Natalie was climbing out of her car Michelle told Natalie to give 
the keys to her car to the guy.The guy walked up to Natalie and 
Natalie said what are you going to do with my car.Lassiter said i am 
going to drive it to Nick's loft where i will leave it.Natalie 
handed him the keys to her car and then she climbed into Michelle's 
car.The second after the door was pulled shut Michelle gunned the 
Massariti and sped out of the parking lot.Michelle drove them 
straight to the airport and a lear jet was waiting for them.As they 
were boarding the lear jet Natalie asked Michelle where they were 
going.Michelle said i will tell you once we have taken our seats 
because we need to be on our way as soon as possible.They took two 
seats in the front of the passenger compartment and Michelle used a 
phone to tell the pilot to take off as soon as he could.Michelle 
looked at Natalie and she said we are going to Denver Colorado it is 
where the council of elders are staying at this month.Natalie said 
what do you mean by where they are staying at this month.Michelle 
said the council of elders go to a different location every month 
and they stay there a whole month.Natalie said then how does anyone 
know where they are at.Michelle said they do it so that no one knows 
where they are at unless they inform the person themselves and there 
are a number of elders so its not the same elders on the council 
every month.Natalie said has Lacroix ever sat on the council.
Michelle said oh no the youngest age a vampire can be before sitting 
on the council is three thousand years and he must be well respected 
and have full access of his facilties.Michelle said i suggest you 
get some sleep because it will be several hours before we reach 
Denver and right after you become an enforcer your training will 
begin and it will be about twenty four hours before you are allowed 
to get some rest.

About Ten o'clock Quentin Travers opened his eyes and he was 
shocked by the guy he saw in front of him and what the guy was 
wearing.Quentin tried to jump to his feet but his balance was off 
and Kynnith grabbed a hold of him to keep him from falling.It took 
about a minute for Quentin to get his center of balance and then he 
pushed the guy in front of him away from him.Kynnith dropped to his 
knees and he said Master what have we done to anger you.Quentin 
looked around and after seeing another guy who was wearing a 
similiar outfit to the other guy and then he looked down at himself.
Quentin screamed so loudly that almost everyone in the club heard 
him even over the music.Quentin stomped over to the guy in front of 
him and grabbed him by the neck before pulling him to his feet so he 
could look the guy in the face.Quentin said where am i,who are 
you,and what the hell have you done.Kynnith said i am a slave here 
Master,this is a club,and we just did what you told us to do.Quentin 
tried to slap the guy but because of his hands being in the 
restraints on the sides of his waist he couldnt.Quentin yelled 
release me at once or i shall have the law on you and everyone else 
here.Kynnith quickly moved forward and undid the strap that was 
around Quentin's left wrist.Once Quentin's left wrist was free from 
the strap he cocked back his fist and hit the guy as hard as he 
could across the face.Kynnith was spun around by the power of the 
blow and when he regained his feet he exited through a door that 
would have been hard to find if somone didnt know where exactly it 
was.The other guy followed Kynnith out of the cell cage not wanting 
to be left to the guy's mercy when he was positively furious.Quentin 
undid the strap that was around his right wrist.Quentin wiped off 
the stuff that was on his lips and around his mouth as he walked out 
of the cell cage.

Quentin knew he couldnt leave the club without changing clothes or 
he would definitely get arrested by the police who he was doing his 
best to avoid.Quentin walked over to a waitress and he told her he 
wanted to speak to either the owner or manager of this 
hellhole.Nikon Carstairs who was being led to Quentin by Kynnith 
said i am the owner of the club and my name is Nikon Carstairs.
Quentin turned around to face Nikon and he said sir before i call 
the police i want to know why you and these people kidnapped me and 
brought me here where you dressed me like this.Quentin said i also 
want to know what was done to me and i want my clothes returned to 
me immedietly.Nikon said sir i dont have the slightest idea of what 
you are talking about.Quentin said i am talking about how i got here 
and what was done to me while i was here.Nikon said Mr.Travers you 
came here this afternoon about four o'clock and asked me to put a 
special package for you tonight.Quentin said the bloody hell i did 
and Kynnith said sir its true i was here when you came in and me and 
my companion only did what you told us to.Quentin said i told you to 
dress me like this and what exactly did you do to me.Nikon 
interrupted Kynnith before he could reply and he said Mr.Travers 
such things are not discussed in front of others not even in a club 
like mine.Quentin said ok lets go to your office and have my clothes 
brought there as well i want to change clothes.Kynnith said sir i 
really suggest that you take a shower before you change back into 
the clothes you came in wearing.Nikon said Kynnith show Mr.Travers 
to the dressing room where his clothes are so he can take a shower 
and change into his clothes and then bring him up to my office.

Twenty minutes later Kynnith knocked on the door to Nikon's office 
and when Nikon said enter he opened the door for Quentin.Quentin 
walked into the office and over to a chair where he sat down.Quentin 
said i already have been told by your employee what they did to me 
and i am going to press charges against you,them,and this damnable 
club of yours for what was done.Nikon said go ahead and try to press 
charges but you wont get too far since i can prove that you came 
here of your own free will and asked for what was done.Quentin said 
oh and how can you do that.Nikon said you gave me your credit card 
and charged the amount what you asked for would cost to it.Quentin 
said no i didnt and Nikon said sir here is a copy of the credit card 
receipt and he passed it to Quentin.Quentin looked at the receipt 
and then pulled out his cellular phone.Quentin dialed a phone number 
and when it was answered he read out a number off the receipt and 
told the person on the other end of the line and then said cancel 
the payment.Nikon jumped up out of his seat and he yelled what are 
you doing.Quentin smiled and he said i just cancelled the payment 
you didnt really think i would pay for what was done to me.Nikon 
said sir you came here and asked for certain things to be performed 
for and to you which we did but now you have cancelled the payment i 
required in advance for such things.Quentin said yes i have and now 
i will be leaving and he stood up.Nikon walked over to the man and 
said Mr.Travers i strongly advise you to pay me before leaving this 
office or else i will have to take payment from you in another 
fashion.Quentin said your not going to get a single shilling from me 
you perverted yankee and then he headed for the door to the office.

As Quentin stepped over the threshold of the office door Nikon 
reached over to the wall behind his desk.Nikon flipped a switch and 
then he pressed a button on the entercom and yelled line up for a 
gauntlet.The switch Nikon had flipped turned on several pairs of 
yellow and green lights that were side by side all over the club.The 
green and yellow lights started flashing and everyone in the club 
looked up at them.Several of the club's regular attendents were 
already getting in position lining up in front of the entrance for 
the gauntlet when Nikon's voice was heard over the entercom calling 
for a line up for the gauntlet.Nikon quickly walked out of his 
office and he looked around and saw Quentin heading for the front 
exit.Nikon ran after him and after reaching him he reached around 
Quentin's chest and grabbed his forearms with his hands pinning 
Quentin's arms to his sides.Quentin yelled let me go or you'll 
regret this.Nikon said i will let you go in about two minutes the 
gauntlet should be set up by this.Quentin said gauntlet and Nikon 
said if someone refuses to pay for drinks or services rendered they 
have to go through the gauntlet to reach the front door.

Quentin looked ahead of him and he saw a large number of people 
lining up into two rows and there were several of the club's staff 
passing out rattan or leather covered switches which were about an 
inch thick to the people lining up.Quentin said you cant do this its 
barbaric and Nikon said oh i most certainly can.Nikon said dont try 
to go to the police and have me charged with you getting beaten up 
because in all the club's contracts there is a condition that anyone 
not willing to pay after services rendered has to go through the 
gauntlet.Once almost everyone who looked like they were going to 
take part in the gauntlet were in place Nikon let go of Quentin and 
said come on the door is right ahead of you.Nikon shoved Quentin 
when Quentin didnt move after a few seconds.Quentin decided to try 
to make a break for it but after looking to his right and left he 
saw that there were people watching and several of them had whips 
and other items.Quentin closed his eyes and took a deep breath and 
after opening his eyes he took off running toward the front door.
Nikon waited until Quentin had entered the gauntlet and then he ran 
around to the very end and took position in the gauntlet right in 
front of the door.

When the lear jet touched down at a small airstrip on the outskirts 
of Denver Colorado Michelle woke Natalie up by shaking her shoulder.
There was a limosine waiting for them where the lear jet came to a 
stop and Natalie and Michelle disembarked from the lear jet and 
walked over to it.Michelle opened the limosine's right back door and 
Natalie climbed in followed by Michelle.Natalie said how long before 
we get to where the elders are.Michelle said we have about a hours 
drive from here so why dont you try to get some more sleep.Natalie 
said i am fully awake and i dont think i could get back to sleep 
anyway.Natalie said Michelle tell me about the training i will 
recieve.Michelle said first of course you will be taught what all 
nightwalkers are supposed to be taught by their sires which includes 
controlling your hunger,how to hunt,how to conceal yourself from 
others,how to fly,and things like that.Natalie said Michelle i have 
wondered for several years what is the difference between a normal 
nightwalker and an enforcer.Michelle said a person chosen to become 
an enforcer is given the blood of a master enforcer who is over a 
millenium and a half old which is mixed with some blood from the 
elders which makes us enforcers even stronger than we normally would 
be.Natalie said so newly created enforcers are even stronger than 
nightwalkers who have lived for centuries.Michelle said yes but 
newly created enforcers have to go through a specialized class of 
training which sharpens their reflexes,speed,and strength so they 
are razor sharp.Michelle said enforcers heal faster than other 
nightwalkers.Natalie said how much faster and Michelle said about 
twice as fast as a nightwalker who is over a thousand years old.
Natalie said so i would heal about as fast as Lacroix would if i get 
hurt.Michelle said yes thats about right but you dont have to worry 
Lacroix wouldnt hurt you he knows he would have to face the elders 
as well as me and Nick.For the next forty minutes Michelle told 
Natalie of some of the jobs she and her group had done for the 
elders over the centuries since the team had been formed back 
durring the time of the spanish inquisition.

The limo stopped in front of what looked to be a large dude ranch 
and Michelle and Natalie climbed out of the limosine.Michelle led 
her up the stairs to the front door and then inside the main 
house.The elders were sitting on couches,recliners,and chairs spread 
out through the living room.There were enforcers spread out through 
the living room as well as throughout the rest of the main house.The 
elders all stood up when Michelle and Natalie walked into the living 
room.The elders spent several minutes introducing themselves to 
Natalie and Michelle was surprised that there was over twenty elders 
there when only twelve of them sat on the council of elders at a 
time.

The current oldest elder sitting on the council of elders said it 
is time for what we have all come here to see to happen.Michelle 
walked up behind Natalie and she said this will not hurt i promise 
you.Michelle gently tilted Natalie's head to the left and then she 
looked at the right side of Natalie's neck pinpointing the cartaroid 
artery,Michelle bent her head forward and she bit Natalie right at 
the cartaroid artery.Michelle drank for about thirty six seconds 
when with her vampire hearing she heard the slowing of Natalie's 
heart so that it was slmost nonexistent.Michelle raised her head 
from Natalie's neck so that it was right beside her right ear.
Michelle whispered hold on Natalie dont go into the light Nick is 
waiting for you back in Toronto.Two enforcers walked up to Michelle 
and Natalie one carried a chair which he placed right behind Natalie 
so Michelle could lower her into it.The second enforcer had a very 
large goblet which contained two pints of Michelle's blood which had 
been taken from her several months ago and a single drop of blood 
from the four elders who had been selected to provide the drop of 
blood to bind Natalie's loyalty to the council of elders.Michelle 
took the goblet from the enforcer and she placed it up to Natalie's 
lips.Michelle said drink Natalie and become an enforcer.With the 
last of her strength Natalie's arms moved upward and took a hold of 
the goblet and she started drinking.When Natalie had drank all the 
blood the oldest elder sitting on the council said Michelle take her 
to the ranch house in the east valley and begin her training 
immedietly.
