I can't recall the exact episode but I'm pretty sure
its been mentioned that Buffy's previous watcher was
killed.

BTW - I hope the fact that you received very little
feedback will not discourage you from writing a sequel
to "Graile" for us. The ending with little Willow was
just precious. IT BEGS SEQUEL!!!!!!
