A challenge in return: Heart, Hand and Spirit

First off, a thank-you to Kirayoshi for the excellent challenge. It got me 
thinking, and back into writing after a little lull. I hope you don't mind 
my little deviation ;)

(Tidbit of the day: I've long since added "Buffy," "Xander," and such to my 
spell-checker's dictionary. But when it stumbled over "Anyanka," it 
presented me with "annoyance." I should also add "shh," "hmm," and 
"betcha" one of these days, but I'm lazy.)

And now, speaking of challenges, I'd like to propose one of my own....


THE SET-UP: After Buffy's twenty-first birthday, things are in a right 
mess. It wasn't the explosive birthday bash that we've had some years, but 
it wasn't pleasant for the Scoobies. But as they take some time to recover 
from so much forced containment, it's Xander of all people who starts to 
finally notice the growing attraction between Buffy and Willow.

His initial reaction can be whatever you like, but eventually he comes to 
the realization that his two best friends are meant for each other. And 
he'll do whatever it takes to make them see it, too.


THE KNOCK-DOWN: The story should contain the following points in some form 
or another:

1. Willow finding out about Buffy and Spike's boinkage.

2. A confrontation between Xander and Tara about what's best for Willow.

3. Willow getting Buffy a better birthday gift.
