Re: OT: FX Cuts Buffy Scene!
Diana,
Like I said, uncut before Thanksgiving, cut after. The November 6th
showing of "Dead Man's Party" was the same as on Halloween, but you may
be thinking of "Fear, Itself", which was also part of the Halloween
marathon and unedited, but was indeed cut when it first ran in the
regular rotation, on November 27th. And of course, "Dead Man's Party"
had the scissors taken to it when it repeated a couple of weeks ago.
Had I but known, I would have made proper copies of "Fear, Itself" when
it ran on Halloween, and "Something Blue" and "Fool For Love" when they
were in the Thanksgiving marathon. But silly me, I thought they'd still
be showing the unedited versions when the eps came up in the regular
rotation, and I wanted to get the eps on tape in order, for easy
viewing.
BTW, it does seem weird that they made the change in the middle of the
repeats, no? You'd think they'd make one uncut run through the series,
and then change it, or something like that.
"Something Blue" ended up looking very weird, since they ran it uncut on
Thanksgiving, and then turned right around and ran the edited version
the following Thursday.
What the heck another Tracy Forbes ("Beer Bad", "Where the Wild Things
Are") Buffy-acts-weird-because-she's-under-a-spell filler ep is doing
being voted the #2 of all time is beyond me, anyhow. Yeah, yeah, I
know the B/Sers love seeing Buffy smooch Spike (conveniently forgetting
the whole point of the ep is that they're so WRONG for each other, even
under a love spell they can't get along), but you've got to put quality
ahead of 'shipper love. I didn't vote for "Choices", after all, and if
we ever get a Buffy/Willow liplock on the show, I'll be very happy, but
I won't start thinking the ep is better than "Innocence" just because of
that.
Ah. well, I'm just cranky. Don't mind me.
