Well, it did provide the laughs, which is better than pretty much all of
season six(with the possible exception of 'Once More With Feeling'). Still,
it wouldn't have made my top ten list. Although now that I think of it, I
think it was the only ep on FXs Thanksgiving top ten list that came from
season four(they didn't have the broadcast rights to 'Hush' then, I think).

Say, does anyone have a list of the shows FX aired on their top ten marathon?
I know that 'Surprise', 'Innocence', 'Becoming', 'The Wish' and
'Dopplegangland' made the cut, but in what order, exactly?

In the interests of getting some discussion started, I hereby volunteer my
ten favorite eps of BtVS and why, and hope to encourage others on the list to
do the same. I'm counting two-parters as one entry. Okay, here we go, in
chronogical order;

1) Welcome to the Hellmouth and The Harvest. Great intro to the cast, and
the always formidable threat of Darla.
2) Prophecy Girl. Heavy, suspenseful ending to the first season Master
story arc. Buffy confronting the prophecy of her death was handled
beautifully.
3) Surprise and Innocence. The beginning of the Angelus story arc, plus the
Judge story. The drama unfolds brilliantly.
4) Passion. This one changed the rules. Jenny's death upped the stakes for
Buffy and her friends, by indicating that any of them could be next.
5) Becoming. Buffy stripped of everything but herself, in her final
showdown with Angelus. Powerful stuff.
6) The Wish. A downright scary look at what might have been.
7) Dopplegangland. My personal favorite episode. The perfect balance of
suspence, action, drama(Buffy's reaction to seeing Vamp Willow, priceless!),
and humor! All BtVS should be this good.
8) Hush. Silence is golden. The cast were able to get the point across
without dialogue in this tight little story. And I loved seeing Willow
pretend to strangle herself when they were discussing how to deal with the
Gentlemen.
9) Fool for Love. Oh for the good ol' days, when Spike was a
multidimensional villain, and not just the 'bad boyfriend' character! Loved
this look into the past of Buffy's best villain.
10) Blood Ties. Another great drama, setting the stage for the final round
between Buffy and Glory. And they finally did something with Dawn in this
one.

Okay, I'll admit to some bias in this list, and you try narrowing it down to
ten! 'The Body' was a great ep, yes, but it's a real downer. And as much as
I enjoyed "Once More With Feeling", that one stretched my suspension of
disbelief a bit much.

Okay gang, let's sound off on your favorites! We can put together a better
top-ten list than the nabobs at FX!

"Once, years ago, I saved the life of a wise old priest.
Grateful, he made a gift to me of these few precious words:
If you find yourself on a cliffside, trapped,
with a hungry tiger waiting above
and a hungry tiger waiting below,
and by chance you spy a single strawberry
growing from the cliffside...
pluck the strawberry...
and bite into it...
and taste it."
