Re: FIC (sort of): Where there's fire?

Jason,

>>Well, to be fair, Anya was afraid of all things Initiative

And that's precisely why there should have been a scene or two that
addressed that fear, with Anya confronting Xander, Buffy, or preferably
Riley on the matter. I don't remember her worrying about whether they
treated former demons the same way they treat current demons, like she
did later in "Checkpoint", with the Watchers' Council. (Who somehow
don't stake Spike, but that's a different gripe.) A one-line exchange
in "Where the Wild Things Are" hardly covers it.

And yet, she refers to having met Dracula while he's in the room in
"Buffy vs. Dracula", so I guess he's informed by then. Gee, would have
liked to have seen that, or at least a moment dealing with their new
status quo.

The potential for dramatic conflict between characters is something to
be explored, not avoided.

Oh, well, I guess I should save it for that B/W and Anya/Riley fic I've
got kicking around in my head. Who knows, it might even shake loose
into words and such (I think that's called "writing", but I'm a little
rusty on that, I'll admit).

Thanks for your thoughts,

Dan
