Ok, that should be enough :)
Anyway, I didn't dislike this episode the way I've disliked just about all of
them since 'Gone'. The non Scooby interaction like Regina said is getting to
be pretty annoying, but at least we had the whole gang there for Riley's
intro's to the new wife.
One thing that bugged me, Xander being a annoying buttmonkey. He sidled up
to Sam on the couch, in Buffy's home, and started making with the nicey
nicey, not once giving a thought to what Buffy must be going through seeing
her ex married. I usually don't get annoyed at Xander, rarely ever in fact,
but that bugged the heck outta me.
Dawn wasn't quite as annoying as she has been in the last couple of episodes.
Gotta give the girl credit for being a bit snappish at Riley on behalf of
her sister. And I was liking the fact that it seems that her trust in Willow
has been restored, she went to the Bronze with her, and was excited about it
no less.
As for Willow and the Buffy/Willow interaction. It was a tad bit better than
it has been in recent episodes, but it wasn't great, and it probably could
have been a lot better. Again Willow asked Buffy to the Bronze, and
unfortunately this time Buffy shot her down :( But score one for Willow
picking up on the fact that Buffy said 'he' instead of 'they' when she was
referring to the grass stain on her jacket. Willow might not be too far
outta the loop for much longer. The scene where Will offered to hate Sam in
Buffy's place was sweet, and I could vaguely see shades of the the old B/W
dynamic, even if it only was for a brief moment. It seems that Willow is
trying to re-establish their connection and Buffy is being the hesistant one.
I got that alot tonight. But they did sit on the same chair tonight, Buffy
in it and Willow on the arm, so that's progress I suppose LOL
And as for the B/S 'breakup'. Well it could have been much worse, if I was a
B/S fan. Buffy could have beat him to a bloody pulp, she could have screamed
at him for being the Doctor. But she didn't. She calmly walked up to him
and told him it was over, and left with the sunlight streaming in and maybe
just a tiny trace of a smile on her face. And I think that was for the best.
Now you're probably wondering where I get that crazy logic from, right? Well
think about it. We've seen Buffy yell at Spike, we've seen her beat him up
as well. And it's never done any good cause they always land back up in bed
together. I think for once Buffy was in complete control of the situation.
She seems resolved to stay away from Spike, unlike the other times that she
has said and done things to stay away from him, and has either never meant
it, or lacked the resolve to do it. I didn't get that from the last scene.
So maybe I'm being optimistic here, but I felt a sort of finality to the B/S
'relationship' with that scene. Maybe I'm deluding myself, but one can hope
:)
Anyway, just my take
