Re: This is most likely a tad late...

Connor (or Jack, if you prefer)

Yes, you're slightly late to the "As You Were" discussion, but look on
the bright side--by waiting, you've avoided the need for Spoiler Space
(now only needed for "Hell's Bells" and beyond).

Yep. I remember the quote (from "Innocence", not "Passion", btw), but
much as I have loathed B/S this year (which has been killing Buffy, and,
IMO, tne show), I don't know if I can accuse Spike of deliberately
plotting Buffy's death this way.

Seems more like he felt so unmanned by all those "spectacular kickings
of my ass" that he had the need to gain some kind of dominance over
Buffy. So maybe his subconscious convinced him he loved her, and set
him to work that way, knowing that "the only thing better than killing a
slayer would fu--" (as he said in "Wrecked").

So I can see a need to conquer Buffy (on some level, probably
subconscious) but I don 't know about deliberate destruction.

As for the goodies in "The Harsh Light of Day", Giles, Willow and Oz
found Harmony in the tomb, pretty quickly, so I expect they called the
authorities. Who were headed there anyway--remember, Spike's
tunnelling had caused a freeway sinkhole, and they were already
investigating. Don't think any of the gang pulled a Dawn and pocketed
any of the loot, but I guess you never know?
