Well, at least you found ONE affirmative love statement from Tara. I'd
missed "After Life", and using it in the fight in "All the Way" isn't
the same thing.

She did sing "cause I love you so" in "Wish I Could Stay" during the
musical. But Willow's said it much more, in "Family" and "The Body"
(mouthed, silently) and "Tough Love" and "Tabula Rasa" and she was the
one who said they were in love in "Checkpoint" and I've probably missed
a couple.

Along these lines, did Willow ever tell Oz she loved him? I know she
got him to say it as he was leaving in "Wild at Heart", but?

And Buffy, to my knowledge, has NEVER made an affirmative romantic
statement of love. The five times she told Angel she loved him were all
very traumatic:

?In "Lie to Me", he asks her if she loves him before he answers her
question about Drusilla, and gets back "I love you, but I don't know if
I trust you."

?In "Innocence", when she doesn't know he's turned into Angelus and
he's being a total bastard, she pleads "Angel, I love you!" as he
leaves, and gets the callous "love you, too, babe" back.

*In "Becoming, Part 2", she says it just before she sticks him with the
sword and sends him to hell.

?In "Amends" and "The Zeppo", she says it as she's begging him not to
kill/sacrifice himself.

And Riley, alas, got not even that. She did tell Angel that she loved
Riley in "Sanctuary", but she was just throwing Commando Boy in his
face.

(of course, Willow has exchanged several beautiful "I love you"s with
her, but they're not explicitly romantic?yet ^_^ )

Actually, I think Xander and Anya have not only the longest-lasting
relationship in Hellmouth history, but have expressed their love the
most. Very weird.
