Yes, Marvin/"Diego" (played by Jarrad Paul) was named for Diego
Gutierrez, who was Joss's assistant as far back as "Lie to Me". 

Plenty of characters have been named for people involved in the
production;

Anya is named for casting co-director Anya Coloff (Jennifer Fishman and
Amy McIntyre-Britt didn't need to have characters named after them when
they arrived in season 3, obviously). The law firm of Wolfram & Hart is
named for former script girl Amy Wolfram (I guess she's who Amy was
named for, since she was around in season 1). Lindsey McDonald is named
for assistant editor Skip MacDonald (but Skip the friendly demon is
named for co-producer Skip Schoolnik), Holland Manners is named for
producer Kelly A. Manners, and the big crypt in the cemetery says
"Alpert" in honor of Marc. D. Alpert.

And I'm sure there are plenty of others I haven't caught.
