Cas,

Technically, Diego was never on the writing staff. He's still Joss's
assistant. Perhaps Joss let him do a freelance script (much like
ex-script boy David Goodman wrote the "Angel" ep, "Dad") as a try-out,
so he'd have better luck getting a staff job elsewhere? I admit, I'm
somewhat surprised they'd let him go to the "Creek", since even if there
aren't any permanent spots available on "Buffy" or "Angel", there's
always "Firefly". But maybe Diego wants to take a job elsewhere, so
people DON'T do what I did--like his script, and decide that this must
mean Joss ghosted it.
