Thanks for the kind words, I'm glad you're enjoying the story so far.
You're right while I wasn't letting Xander have the girl right away, I
figured he should get something for all his suffering and loyalty. 

I can imagine there will be a huge surprise throughout the demon
community once they have encountered the new and much improved Xander.
He ain't just the donut no more.8-)
