<<But my happy 'shipper theory is that
Willow's been distancing herself because she's starting to break through
the Wall of Denial and realize that she's in love with Buffy, and she
hasn't yet been able to "leave Tara's room" and face it, so she's
pushing Buffy away, as much as it's possible for her to do. This would
also explain why she's all about Buffy when she's with Tara, but sucking
major Tara face when Buffy's in the room.>>
See there you go again. I've been in the negative shipper space lately and
went and picked me right back up. I honestly hadn't thought of that. Buffy
has never been the one that's been the emotional anchor for Willow, its
always tended to be the opposite. And like you guys said, she would have
probed further when Buffy said 'nothing', she wouldn't have taken that at
face value. It kinda reminds me of the scene in 'Enemies', where Willow knew
something was wrong without even seeing Buffy sprawled on the floor in
obvious distress. And Buffy told her nothing, and Will used the resolve face
and Buffy cracked right away. Where was that in 'Seeing Red'? Like I said,
the distance is blatant now, and you may just be on to something Dan, here's
hoping :)
<<No, it
seems like there has to be a reason they've been keeping that back, and
all I can think is that Marti's really going to be probing the depth of
that feeling, with Buffy trying to draw Willow back to her. I hope>>
See that's what I'm hoping for next week. We've heard Xander say it to her,
now it's Buffy's turn. Hopefully that will be one of the wildcards that will
be in play. Ugh, maybe it's just wishful thinking, but the promo did have me
thinking.
<<And again, I can't really see Marti "has two mommies" Noxon being so
mean to Willow and Tara unless she was going to do something nice for
Will, like hook her up with her true soulmate. Plus, didn't DeKnight
say they couldn't kill Tara, because then where would the hot
girl-on-girl action come from? Where indeed :) >>
See I've been thinking about that, and the reasoning behind killing Tara.
Sure it seems that it's just to make Willow the villian for the last few eps.
But assuming she's not Season 7's Big Bad, that leaves the spectrum wide
open. Taking Tara away, and effectively taking away the entire lesbian
aspect of the show for a three episode arc seems rather pointless. So I have
to hope that Marti has someone else in mind for Willow, and she had to get
Tara out of the way to do it. Although if Marti is thinking of the same
person I am, I don't think killing Tara would have been the most effective
plot device. It leaves way too much baggage and that has me a bit worried if
in fact they do go the Buffy/Willow route.
As for DeKnight, when I read his comment a while back it got me thinking
right away. Because at the time I had already read the Tara dies spoiler.
And he knew darn well what was coming considering it was his episode she died
in. So it made me all that more curious.
Anyway.......
Speaking of the promo, I guess I should put some extra space just in case:

Speaking of the promo, I took heart in one of the lines Buffy utters. She
doesn't say that she needs to stop Willow from killing Warren because he's
human. She basically says she needs to stop Will because she won't let
Willow destroy herself. So hopefully it won't be about Will killing someone,
it'll be about Buffy afraid she's going to lose Willow to the dark side.

Buffy:"I could wrestle naked in grease for a living and still be cleaner than
after a shift at the Doublemeat."
Willow:"Plus, I'd visit you at work every single day."
