Also, Jolie... consider Prozac.
....Personal attacks? Not a good way to start.. :(
To answer Phoen..
I don't have a problem with Tara being shot..not because I
don't love the character, but because it's what happened. It's TV. I
don't get angry when a storyline doesn't go the way I want it to. I
decide to sit back and watch it for what it is. Because, even if the
show is utter pandemonium right now, it's still well written (albeit
incredibly dark) and it's still a show I love. I have faith that it
will all resolve itself in some way or another, and I am very
interested to see how.
As far as it being a gun that killed Tara. That was a little
scary for me, because the show is supposed to be a fantasy. But, this
season dealt with the "real world"..Buffy style, that is..what could
be realer than real death? A real consequence. Plus, they needed a
way to make Willow the Big Bad somehow..:P (By the way..I find the
idea of Willow being the Big Bad a very interesting concept. She was
such a mousy little thing in the beginning, and look at her now. It's
upsetting to me, but strangely intriguing.)
Quite frankly, the thing that worried me about the gunshot scene
was not where the bullet should have hit etc etc..BUT, if Willow was
standing close enough to Tara, and she was lined up enough with Tara
to get the full-on blood splatter all over her shirt..then how is it
that she wasn't hit by the bullet as well? The bullet clearly exitted
Tara's body through the front of her chest. Odd.
As for the idea that Joss seems to be trying to eradicate the
homosexuals..heh. He would have NEVER created such a loving
relationship between two women if he had any problems with it. In
fact...Willow's relationship with Tara was what brought her back from
the dark magic initially. The shock of watching the person she loves
most die is what finally puts her over the edge. Has nothing to do
with "kill the lesbians off"..it's more like "Willow needs to become
dark somehow to advance the plot-line." Never let it be said that
Joss and Marti aren't a wee bit misguided.
I think Xander is made of rubber. :P That would explain a lot.
As for Dawn...she's going through a tough time. She is not of
this world, her mother has recently died, nobody pays her attention,
everyone is so wrapped up in their own stuff that they don't see what
she is up to..and she is a teenager! Could it GET any worse for the
poor thing? She goes to Spike because he is someone who paid her
attention, and looked out for her. I don't think Dawn supports him
having a relationship with Buffy, but, she doesn't want to lose yet
another part of her support system...
Which brings me to the effect Tara's death will have on her.
Instead of Buffy taking on the nurturing mother role after Joyce
died, Tara did. For both Buffy (in ways) AND Dawn..I'd like to see
how this plays out.
Buffy can't save Willow. Willow has to save Willow. the theme
this season was "grow up already"..it is time for everyone to deal
with their own shit...
Look..I'm not saying I liked this episode, and I am certainly not
saying that this does not disturb me, because it does. Terribly. The
attempted rape scene alone was enough to send me into the shivers.
But, I watch TV because it's like someone telling me a story..and
because I am not telling it, I have no control over the outcome. So,
I just enjoy the story.... :)
