Xander didn't duck; Buffy pushed him down, two hands on the chest. Why
she didn't dive on top of him but turned back to face the gun, Joss only
knows.

(Well, maybe she knows she can take a bullet to the chest and just be
fine in a day or so. :rolleyes:)

And where is Tara's blood? (other than on Willow's shirt, I mean)
Buffy's blood is pouring out through Xander's fingers, Tara just has a
red hole on her shirt. Even if the heart muscle was completely
destroyed by the shot, there should still have been blood leaking out of
the chest cavity and a spreading stain on the shirt.
