Ok, well the term oh shit comes to mind again. Honestly, I'm not sure if I
hated it or liked it at this point. The parts that I actually remember that
is. You know, I was completely spoiled for it, and it still didn't prepare
me for just how intense it was going to be. I love Aly, and I think she gave
a fantastic performance tonight, but the girl was creeping me out quite a
bit.
That first scene where she calls on Osiris, again, the girl was breaking my
heart. She can cry with the best of them, that's for sure. Call me crazy,
but there was a line in there somewhere where Willow says 'bring her back' or
something to the like. And then they cut to Buffy who's eyes suddenly open.
At first I thought maybe Will's demand was granted, just to the wrong victim.
But whoever that demon was, not Osiris I pressume, shot her down. And she
in return, what, vanquishes him? Creepy.
Willow comes walking out of the house and sees Buffy. She's already got her
mad on, and Xander tells her it's Warren. Go Mr. Butt Monkey. He doesn't
bother to notice the blood splattered all over her shirt. She could have
just as easily been hit, she wasn't out back with him and Buffy, so he should
know it's not Buffy's blood. But no, he's too pre-occupied with Buffy's
sucking chest wound to take notice of the other best friend. Yep, I smell a
Buffy/Xander hook up coming. :(
Cut to the Magic Box(Yes I'm skipping Warren and his gloating at the demon
bar. I just felt like punching the little bastard the whole time). I'll
give some credit to Anya, she did seem rather sympathetic to Willow. Now she
said she knew that something bad happened. I assumed she thought at the time
that Willow was going all vengeancy because of Buffy. Later on it's
explained that Buffy's shooting was on the news. So did Anya find out that
way, or did Xander call her? Either way, she thinks it's because of Buffy.
But later on Anya tells Xander and Buffy that she can feel Willow's thirst
for vengeance. And she knows about Tara. So did Willow, in all her
absorbing of the knowledge of naughty black magic ( which was uber creepy
with the blood red text flowing over her), tell Anya that Tara was dead, or
did Anya sense it and know all along that Tara was the reason?
As a quick note, Dawn finding Tara's body wasn't as bad as I thought it would
be. Why? Cause they put what, a whole 5 seconds to it, while we saw the
ambulance guys for 30 seconds. Not liking that, especially as a bit of a
Tara/Dawn shipper. Although when Buffy comes in later Dawn is pretty broken
up about it, so that saves it a bit. I do stress a bit though.
Cut to Rack, who for some reason looks less creepy to me than before. Go
figure. Rack begins to go on about Willow's power, she's the new biggie in
SD. Well that's not sounding that great is it? And apparently Rack knew of
Willow's connection to Buffy. How exactly is that? Could he sense her on
Willow from before? Is it just that common knowledge that Buffy and Willow
are inextricably linked? Hehe, ok, maybe that's just me.
Now we get to the hospital, Buffy apparently in an operating room. Although
I can't say I've ever seen an OR where people can watch what's going on
through a huge glass window. But maybe I'm sheltered, who knows. Buffy's
starting to slip away and all of a sudden the power flickers. Enter Willow
(Yes, I refuse to refer to her as anything other than Willow LOL), who
calmly, and very creepily tells all the doctors to leave. And they do!
Which is rather odd in and of itself, after what, 20 seconds? Willow calmly
removes the bullet from Buffy's chest with what appears to be telekenesis.
Buffy magically, literally, awakens and Xander wraps himself around her
immediately. Yep, still getting the Xander/Buffy vibe. But she pretty much
is staring at Will. Noticing the definite change in appearance. Willow
almost softly, and with the only caring emotion she has all episode, says
'Hey'. Which would be a nice small B/W moment, if I wasn't so creeped out by
this point. But it's nice to see that before she goes and exacts revenge on
Warren she wanted to save Buffy. Be thankful for small favors I suppose.
Now we have Warren climbing onto a bus acting all jittery and scared. But as
we find out, it's not Warren, just a bot that Willow bulges it's eye out of
later on. Now tell me, should a robot be acting all scared? Something tells
me that Warren didn't program fear into it considering Warren thought he was
so damn macho.
Now Willow, Buffy and Xander are driving through the desert after the bus,
because Willow can feel Warren's essence or whatever. Again, how is that
possible when its just a robot? Buffy is trying to calm Willow down. Not
knowing that Willow is furious because of Tara, Buffy assumes Will is all
vengeful because of her. Defending Buffy's honor. Which would be sweet,
really sweet, if it were the case. I can't help but think that when Buffy
knew it wasn't because of her she got knocked down a few pegs.
Speaking of that, we go back to Marti's little idea that Willow driving the
car with magic is cool. I noticed throughout the ep she borrowed little
things here and there from her own 'Wrecked' script.
Now, here comes the part that would have actually been nice, if again, I
wouldn't have been so freaked out. Buffy tries to stop Willow, repeatedly,
even after she knows Tara has been killed. I gotta say, at least Buffy
seemed upset about Tara. I didn't expect that much of a reaction from closed
off girl. She even tells Willow 'We love you'. Of course we can't get an 'I
love you', so I suppose it will have to do. But there was probably more
Buffy/Willow contact in that scene than we've had all year long. Pretty
pathetic when you think about it. When Xander said that she herself said
there is no coming back from the darkness, she looked right in Buffy's eyes
and said; 'I'm not coming back'. Now Xander is the one who said it to her,
but she looked at Buffy when she replied. Here's hoping that wasn't some
kind of silent permission for Buffy to 'take care' of her after she kills
Warren.
Skipping ahead to the Xander/Dawn/Buffy scene that again worries me about B/X
hints. Dawn thinks Willow is completely justified, and would go after Warren
herself if she could. Buffy seems shocked. I gotta say, I was split
completely down the middle. I wanted Warren to pay, I really started hating
his ass in this ep. What worriws me about Willow's method is that it
destroys her too. Just like Buffy said. 'I won't let Willow destroy
herself'. As far as I could tell, it was all about saving Willow, not
Warren, which is good.
I'm gonna skip through all the Clem and Spike crap, just because it annoyed
me to no end. And because Buffy actually seemed upset that Spike left. Give
me a break, she misses her would be rapist? WTF? Thanks Marti ::rolleyes::
The big reveal that Anya is again a vengeance demon, and Xander seems sorta
disgusted by it. I really don't see the two of them getting back together
anytime soon, if at all. It's a shame, because that's yet another
Xander/Buffy hint. Anya says she'll help, but she's helping Willow. I
assumed it meant she was helping the scorned woman as a vengeance demon. But
leading Buffy and Xander to her to stop her wouldn't exactly acomplish that,
so it leads me to believe she was helping save Willow from herself, as a
friend. Which I found I liked.
Out in the woods we have Willow literally stalking Warren, in a calm, cold,
clinical manner that reminded me of something out of a horror movie. The
homicidal maniac stalking it's innocent victim. Not a good thought when it
comes to my favorite character. Cue a bunch of nifty SFX shots and we get
some interesting dialogue. Warren says it was an accident! Warren, who
still doesn't know he killed Tara I assume. Until Willow says, 'So instead
of killing my best friend, you killed my girlfriend?' Hmmm, so maybe part of
her is doing it for Buffy? She does use the bullet that was in Buffy's chest
to hurt Warren, all the while talking about the damage it caused. Creepy.
Of course we have the walking dead when Katrina comes in. Now I really hate
Warren. 'You deserved it bitch!'. Marti is trying really hard to justify
Willow here isn't she? Well he definitely got his, that's for sure. Skinned
alive, and then, right in front of Buffy, Xander and Anya's eyes, set on
fire. Now was he dead before or after that? Notice how she seems to
consider what Warren says, that she'll lose her friends by doing this. And
when she hears Buffy calling her, she stops for a brief moment and looks
toward her. But it's not enough. 'Bored Now' and in that single instant,
our Willow, our sweet, innocent Willow, is gone forever. Buffy looks
horrified and disguested as Willow vanishes in a cloud of mystical energy.
And folks, that's it. How in the hell does it ever go back? How can we ever
look at Willow and see the same girl Buffy fought for all these years? We
can't. There is no fixing this, they can't make this right. So what's left?
And it gets worse, the promo:

Buffy and Willow fighting, physically fighting. How much worse does it get
than that? Willow completely gone bad. Not just vengeful anymore, bad,
evil, corrupt. Whatever you wanna call it. And that last look. They look
like they hate each other. I can't begin to tell you how much that promo
upset me.
I think our ship is about to implode in on itself.

Buffy:"I could wrestle naked in grease for a living and still be cleaner than
after a shift at the Doublemeat."
Willow:"Plus, I'd visit you at work every single day."
