Coupla more remarks before I turn in.

The more i watch this, the more I appreciate Aly's performance. The
"dead" voice took some getting used to, until I realised she was going
in and out of it -- rather deftly, I'd say -- to indicate Will's
emotional state.

Another thing that struck me was the contrast between Will and Anya.
There's Anya, and actual living, breathing DEMON, and she's like all
coiffed and beautiful and sad for her friend; vs. said friend Willow,
the human being. Dayum. Notice that the axing scene, which strongly
recalled the Hallie sword scene, took place right after the Anya-
revelation scene. Sad.

> And can I just say that the sofa scene really underwhelmed me.

OTOH, this occurred to me: Xander is the one who is most disconnected
from Willow in this ep. He, IMO, was the one who lost her on the
highway during the B/W/X talk. Buffy had gotten Will to stand still
and listen, and Willow seemed to be genuinely touched somewhat, then
Xand started in with the "off-the-wagon" thing. Falling off the wagon
was sooo not what Willow cared about at that point, and Buffy knew that
sort of talk wouldn't reach her. When Xander brought up the Addiction
Metaphor from Hell again during the sofa scene, Buffy again responded
by talking about Willow's spiritual and emotional state. I'm not
dinging Xander here, but it was nice to pick up on the distinction
between B and X's concerns, and to see that Buffy had some care left in
those curls. (cuz that "I can't understand what you're going thru"
crap didn't win her any points, that's for sure.)

Speaking of minced metaphors, did anyone notice that Rack tonight was
like an arms dealer?

last thing: It was weird starting off with Buffy not being the
protagonist and then suddenly taking over in like Act III. The show
sort of ground to a halt and almost didn't make it around the hairpin
turn.
