ROAD TRIP (11/?)
"This is beautiful," Willow decided, her eyes looking over the gentle waves
below.
"Yeah, it is," Buffy said, her eyes moving over Willow before looking off the
balcony. "It's so peaceful."
"I noticed that," Willow turned her head, smiling and suddenly noticing just
how close they were standing. She moved back into the room, cursing her
raging hormones as well as the voice inside her head that kept telling her to
kiss the slayer senseless. Then, she had to curse the other voice that urged
her not to stop at just a kiss. Then, she stopped and wondered when she had
gone crazy, hearing voices and such. Shaking her head, she groaned.
"Problem?" Buffy asked with amusement as she leaned against the balcony door,
watching the redhead make a face.
"Not really," Willow said as she turned and smiled sheepishly at her friend,
"Just wondering what I should do about the voices in my head."
"Voices, huh?" Buffy said, clucking her tongue as she shook her head. "I
heard about that on the Discovery channel."
Willow smiled, "Well, then, Doctor Summers, whatever should I do about them?"
"Let me see if I remember," Buffy said, growing thoughtful, "Ah ha! I
remember."
"Well?" Willow waited expectantly, watching as Buffy tried to grow serious.
"First, you must accept the voices as being part of who you are," Buffy said,
"Next, you must have a huge dinner at a seafood restaurant. Then, you must
take a long, lazy walk along the beach with your bestest friend in the entire
world."
Willow laughed, shaking her head, "I think I'll accept that diagnose, Doc.
Dinner sounds like a great idea."
Buffy smiled, always happy when she made Willow laugh. She was so glad that
they had nixed the idea of driving halfway across the country, instead
focusing on the western coast. After they had made their decision, they had
headed out of the trees and towards the ocean. Near dusk, they had reached
the town of Seashell, near the Oregon border. Willow had loved the name and
Buffy had loved the town, so they had decided to stop for the night.
Remarkably, they had found a nice motel on a small cliff overlooking the
ocean. The room had two beds, the only drawback as far as she could see. It
even had a path that lead down on the south side of the motel to the sand and
water. Buffy had spotted a pleasant looking cafe a block away from their
room, that being where she intended to take Willow for dinner. "Come on then.
I saw the perfect place to eat on our way up here."
"Lead the way, Buffy," Willow said, laughing as Buffy took her hand and
pulled her out of the room.
