Re: Cas and Kirayoshi, season finale--DISCUSSION

And here I go again, filling away, hey-hey!

There

once

was

a

Dan

who

liked

limericks

but

couldn't

go any further, so it's a good thing he only needed 20 lines of
Discussion space.

Attempted rapist, my good fellow. Apparently that makes a world of
difference. And he's got a soul now, so he's no more the same guy than
Angel was Angelus. Tabula Rasa, Tabula Rasa. Ready, Randy? Ready,
Joan!

Hey, Spike's more innocent than Willow now. Yeah, we're the immoral
bastards now. (Gonna start work on that Electro-Ray tomorrow!)

Honestly, I don't think ME thinks they have anything to wiggle out of.
I think they think they have their "back to basics" paradigm all set up.

Buffy realizes that her mission and purpose is to guide Dawn, and does
so.

Spike tries to make Buffy see that he's worthy of her now that he has a
soul, and eventually she stops denying it and admits that she loves him.

Meanwhile, over in the "5 minutes of airtime a week" corner of the plot,
Willow angsts a lot and eventually fights off the urge to go back to
magic (not that that really means anything more than all the times she
did that **this** year). Willow and Xander struggle to deny their
feelings and he eventually has to choose between her and Anya.

Andrew and Jonathan, who have conveniently escaped justice for Katrina's
murder, which they are entirely guilty of, make one or two appearances
and are, for some unknown reason, treated as comic relief. Also,
offensive jokes about Andrew being gay and Jonathan being afraid of it
(see the leering trucker) factor in. (Hey, with Willow and Lilah
becoming straight, this is all the homoeroticism left at ME, so enjoy.
Not.)

Hang all this on a season arc (presumably about "forgiveness", so Buffy
can be friends with Willow [but not in any way that they really matter
to each other] and in love with Spike), and a batch of MoW eps, and
there you have it.

Dan

not seeing any conflicts I want to see resolved ahead.
