SPOILERS: Speculation based on "Restless."

Well, "Restless" is running on FX tonight, and it's
still one of my favorite "weird" episodes ever; right
up there with "Superstar." It also contains some
interesting foreshadowing, and may shed some light on
some spoilery

There, I think that's about right.

So we know Spikey is all soul-having. And there's a
rumor that Willow is going to become a watcher.

But in Restless, brown-suit Spike (aka Randy Giles,
appearing in the same scene a shark is discussed) says
that Giles is teaching *him* to be a watcher. Hmm.
He's already British, so he fulfills one requirement.

Now, I'd much prefer Willow to be Buffy's next
watcher. But maybe they'll give Spike to Faith or
something. We can hope. It would be more interesting
than an Angel rehash anyway.

(I'm still hoping that they'll set a new trend and
souled-Spike will be just as much of a bastard as
we've all been expecting. But who knows?)

Oh, and Buffy is also on record calling Xander
"brother," so I'm not seeing the B/X anymore ^_^
Might have to watch out for W/X though.

And then, as Xander flees in panic through Giles'
apartment, Willow is sitting on a chair with some sort
of convulsions as Giles stands over her with a book
and Buffy says "I can fight anything, can't I?" Is
that a reference to Will's magic problems?

(Now, what about "A watcher scoffs at gravity"?)

I remain,

Jason Rune
