SW: Episode 2 vs. Buffy

Spoilers for Star Wars: Episode 2. Has it been out a
week yet? Heh. (First a non-spoiler hint: it sucked
*beyond belief*.)

No buffy spoilers past Seeing Red.

All right: when Anakin's mother died in his arms in
the Tusken encampment, was anyone having a severe
Seeing Red flashback? I was seriously expecting his
eyes to go jet black. I was almost disappointed when
they didn't. Of course, I was disappointed already by
the rest of the movie, but that's another story.

In any case, I was rather apalled that nobody blinked
an eye at Anakin's behavior beyond some gentle
reproaches. Shouldn't even Amidala have the sense to
know that a Jedi who kills an entire village (even of
Tuskens) in *hate* and *anger* is in trouble? I guess
when you're in the middle of a war, what's one more
village of sadistic bastards, right?

Anyone else flash back to black-eyed Willow? All I
can say is that if I see her in a black respirator
mask I'm gonna run after Joss with a lightsaber. She
would probably look spiffy in a cloak, though.

(Say, do you think Joss or one of the writers saw an
early preview of E2 or something? Heh.)
