You know I've been reading all y'all have been saying about the last
episodes, and I have even voiced an opinion, something I rarely do.
However, there are a couple of points that I think, may have been over
looked. Of course I could be wrong, and I may have missed someone saying
this same thing (Heck it wouldn't be the first time).

I hope this enough, if it isn't, sorry.

First of all, while I agreed with some others, I wasn't all that happy
that Joss and company felt it necessary to kill off one of the only gay
couple on the show. But giving a certain amount of credit, if you
noticed the only "normal" and healthy relationship on the show was
Willow/Tara, and if they were looking for something that would make a
major impact on the viewers, it appears they succeeded.
I do find it ironic that after all the mystical, hell spawned and evil
beings the Scoobies have faced, the most devastating attack on the them
wasn't some all powerful demon lord, or uber/master vampire, or even
some apocoliptic tragity, it was simple every day street violence.
Some outcast of society that felt they'd been pushed too far, picked up
a gun and cut loose, just like has happened in schools, streets, work
places, and even McDonalds, all over the world, It was this mundane
violence that strikes at the very heart of the gang, and actually struck
down one of the inner circle.
I know I didn't start watching BtVS until just a few years ago (the
first I ever saw was the original airing of "Hush") and I haven't seen
every episode, but I believe this is the first that one of the official
Scoobies has been killed, well with the exception of Kendra, but then
she wasn't really one of the guys. Like I said I could be wrong.
Now about Willow's reaction, I don't know how many of you have lost
someone as close to you, as Tara was to Willow, especially in this kind
of sudden, and unexpected manner. I have, and I got to tell y'all, I
thought Willow's reaction was not only appropriate, but actually a
little tame. When it happened to me, if I'd had the power to make the
world die, I would have without a second thought.
That is a pain so deep and so profound that it defies description. It
feel as if everything inside you is being ripped to shreds by thousands
of clawing beasts, there is not mercy there is not reprieve and the is
no respite, just constant agony and anguish, and you just want everyone
near you to hurt as badly as you, then maybe your pain will be less, but
it doesn't work, and the pain just gets worse.
Believe me people when I tell you that my reactions and the consequences
of them haunt me even now over 20 years later, and the pain isn't any
less, you just get used to it after a while, but it never goes away.
So while I didn't like seeing Tara being killed that way, as Joss said
in one of the many quotes I've seen over the last few days, life seldom
works out as we would like it to. Face it guys, the papers are full of
it every day as are the radios and TVs, bad things happen to good
people, and the show just worked out so that it reflected that reality.
I just hope that when (or if) the show returns next season, TPTB don't
try to have Buffy, Willow, Xander, Giles, and the rest of the gang all
getting back together, and acting as if nothing happened, or the Goddess
forbid, they pull a "Dallas" on us, and make the entire finale one of
the gang's horrible dream, and nothing like this even actually happened.
For those of you too young to understand the "Dallas" reference please
find someone over 35, about the infamous "Bobby's Dead Season" and ask
they'll know.<bg>
So now I guess this is where I say that's my story, and I'm sticking to
it, or it's just my opinion, and we all know that ain't really worth all
that much. Besides, hey it's just a TV show, so y'all cool down and
don't get so upset if someone doesn't share your opinion. It just isn't
worth getting all bent out of shape about. So relax people, K?
