Re: ::BuffyLovesWillow:: OT; AMC Special on the making of Buffy
Kirayoshi (and all),
A quick check of my on-screen guide shows that the next airing of that
"Backstory" episode will be on Thursday, at 2:30 am, Pacific Time.
This should mean that it airs at 5:30 am Eastern Time, but some of those
channels run an East Coast and a West Coast feed, so the program might
be airing at 2:30 am on both coasts.
OTOH, I have DirecTV, which, when faced with a channel that airs two
feeds tends to show the East Coast feed to the entire country. So it
may be that I will be seeing the 5:30 am Eastern Time airing, but other
(non-DirecTV) viewers out here will get their airing at 5:30 am Pacific
Time. That said, Kirayoshi saw this airing at the same time I did, and
I don't know if he has DirecTV (but I do know he's in my time zone), so
basically it's a mess.
In short (ha!), the next airing is on Thursday, some time between 2:30
and 5:30 am. Check local listings for details and set your VCRs.
Yes, Seth Green was in the movie, but all his scenes got cut. And I'm
not such a big fan of Kristy Swanson, so casting someone else doesn't
horrify me. OTOH, maybe the movie would have been more successful with
another actress, and maybe the TV series would have been made sooner,
with a different cast--eek! (That's a very manly "eek!", in case you
were wondering.) All things considered, it's probably best things went
the way they did.
As to the clips from the series in the special (there aren't many, since
it's about the movie), can anyone tell me what scene Sophia Crawford and
Jeff Pruitt are rehearsing where she spin-kicks him in the library? I
don't recall Buffy ever fighting in the library, except for practice
sessions with Giles, and he's usually using a weapon in those.
Oh, and did you catch the glimpse of them filming the end of "Helpless"?
Aly in the hat, peanut butter, etc. Mmm, Season 3...
Rambling now,
Dan
