Yeah, the Willow motivation parts make sense to me.

Nope, esp in light of the fact that the Council (and to some extent 
Giles, much to my longstanding chagrin) has always held the other 
Scoobs at arms' length. They're *Buffy's* civilian friends, and the 
Council has never, ever expressed any opinion of the Scoobs that even 
comes close to approaching the idea that they view them as Slayer 
colleagues or otherwise within the Council's purview. Even during 
Intervention, their interrogation was all about Buffy's "tools", not 
really about the Scoobs, per se. Know what I mean? Wouldn't you think 
that we'd have heard at least once in all these years that the Council 
has some higher mandate to bring to trial and/or rehabilitate human 
mystical wrongdoers?

And, damn, wouldn't that have come in handy last season, eh? (Oh, 
wait, no, Buffy didn't know that grownups call for help when they need 
it, so I guess it wouldn't have mattered. :rolleyes:)

In any case, as out-of-the-fucking-blue as this new aspect is, I 
could dig it if it came true, cuz Willow voluntarily submitting to the 
Council would shut the mouths of at least some of the witchburners out 
there.
