who'd take more satisfaction from and place more faith in Buffy's
renewed spirit if her epiphany in "Grave" hadn't been necessitated by
the retconning of her (IMO) more convincing epiphany in "Normal Again".
If they can undo the climax of her arc once to "Bring Da Mope, Bring Da
Spuffy Lust" all over again for the finale, I don't see why they
wouldn't do it again.

I'm going to have to actually see a kick-ass, heroic, "proactive with
pep" Buffy before I believe that ME has decided to start treating our
characters right again. For all I know, the "back to basics" talk could
be about **Dawn** being heroic, while B/W/X are still retconned as
incompetent, immature boobs. Because, you know, dying to save the world
or sending the man you love to hell doesn't show any strength of
character at all...

BTW, not that, I'm sure, anyone at ME thinks about this at all, but
doesn't it kind of ruin the point of the sister show if Angel's been
spending the better part of a millennium (counting hell-time) trying to
atone for his past and come to terms with it, and Willow and/or Spike
does it in under a season? Maybe the unique thing the PTB like about
him is his stupidity?
