Re: IT: Prioritising
I gotta go along with you, Mad. Of the 60 odd posts I got this weekend I
had to delete all but a few unread. I missed two stories b/c I just hit the
delete all key.
When I was on the list 3 years ago there were off-topic posts but nothing
like there are today. And it makes it hard to stay on list b/c I have
limited space with hotmail and I can't aford an ISP. So between the
off-topic posts and people forgetting to delete the story when they are
giving f/b i've had my account frozen twice in the past month alone.
And lets talk about feed-back for a moment here: there are over a 1000
members on this list, why is it that some of the best writers get the least
amount of f/b? (No, I'm not talking about me; my stuff is crapola. I
consider it a mercy not to get f/b.)
Let make this clear, most of the really good writers compose their stories
only for themsleves, and they just "share" their hardwork with us. But, it
would still be nice for those same such writers to HEAR from you; if you
liked it or hated it. You don't need to write them on list its ok to send
them off-list f/b. Its ok not to spend an hour composing an indepth study
of their work either--a simple I like the primal buffy b/c she's cool--would
work, too. Every fic I actually read I send f/b to the people. Some
stories I like better than others, sometimes it takes a while for me to do
it, but I always do.
Now I was on the Sam/Janet SG-1 list when they decided to divide it into two
lists and conversation list and a fic list. Both died a tragic death; (not
really I just love that phrase.) But the fic/feedback list only didn't work.
So that's not the answer either...I don't think.
Maybe we just need to be more understanding of each other cause I so do not
want to leave this list again, yet that's the way its heading.
Bright Blessings to you all,
