Well, since I just had all that "defending my right to make OT posts
about the show" thing, I thought I'd better even out the karmic scale.
So..

I was watching "IMG" on the DVDs today, and I noticed for the first time
that, in the teaser, when Buffy and Willow go into the mummy's exhibit
hall, Buffy has her arm linked with Willow's. It's a little hard to see
because they're mostly in the shadows (until they reach the top of the
stairs), but it's cute. :)

Also love how when Cordelia walks away from them (commenting about how
Buffy "live[s] on the edge") Willow smiles and leans her head in towards
Buffy's shoulder. Awww.

(And hey, isn't it fortunate that once Buffy tells Cordy that she
doesn't know what Empada looks like, that Cordy walks away instead of
offering to look him up in that magazine she has with the photos of all
the exchange students in it? Would have kayoed the whole plot right
there.)

(I actually like that sort of plot contrivance, because it's pretty
seamless. Nice to work that near-miss in so you don't [or at least I
didn't] notice it at first)

And then there's the whole "Oh, come on, in all the years you've known
Willow, you've never thought about her lips?" line, which Angelina
points out is kind of similar to Faith's disbelief asking Buffy if she
had ever slept with Xander (in "Bad Girls").

And, of course, Faith can't believe Buffy hasn't, because Faith has...

Holding Willow's arm, thinking about Willow's lips. You think Buffy
cares that Angel isn't in the episode? Nuh-uh....

Oh, and Willow told Xander to take Empada to the dance as his date
(rather than all of them going as a group) before Giles made Buffy
cancel on the dance. You think Will figured if Xander and Empada went
together, she'd go with Buffy?

Xander: See, with you (Buffy), we're three and everybody's safe. But
without you, we're two--
Buffy: Aaah, and we enter Dateville...
Xander: Romance, flowers, lips...

Yep, looks like Willow wants a ticket to Dateville for her and the Buff.
Pat Kelly's "Taking A Risk" (read it at slayerhacker) not really that
far off, I'm thinking. Oh, and about that "I have a choice"
conversation, notice how Buffy just *assumes* Willow's decided to give
up pining over Xander, and goes "Good for you!" Eager to lobby to be
next, Buffy?

Oh, and Buffy doesn't know about the change in plans. She looks a
little disappointed to open the door and find only Xander, later. Poor
slayer!

Good ep for a lot of ships, actually. Strong B/X ep (nice vibe in the
teaser, she admits he's good looking, he tells her she's the only girl
he's ever been interested in that wasn't a disaster, she gives him the
acknowledgement for bringing her back to life [be grateful, Xander!
It's a lot more than Willow gets in S6!] that she taunted him with in
"When She Was Bad") and several cute B/G moments as well (including them
rolling around in the tomb at the end; B/Gers sometimes have the
smuttiest minds <g>).

Heck, if you want, you can make something out of the fact that Willow
and Cordelia went to the dance as Alaska and Hawaii...(all that closet
time in "School Hard" got them thinking couple-y thoughts, I guess)
