According to nielsenmedia.com, 5000 households, with approximately
13,000 persons in them, are employed as "Nielsen families" in the US.
According to the census of 2000, the US population is around 281.5
million people. Therefore the odds of any given person being in a US
Nielsen survey are roughly 22,000 to 1.
If 700 of the 1040 members of this list are American (seems like a
reasonable guess), then the odds against anyone on the list being in
such a household are roughly 300 to 1 against.
However, Nielsen ratings are now collected in 40 countries, and data
collection procedures may vary.
