Whoa! The sex I found kind of inappropriate last chapter didn't quite
lead to hugs and puppies, did it? (Weirdly, that makes me feel better
about it.)

Poor Willow. You wrote a starkly painful description of her fear of
being cast out, abandoned emotionally. In fact, if I wasn't reasonably
sure you had kinkiness in store for B/W, I'd be slightly worried that
Will would do something awful to herself in that bathroom :(

And Buffy, retreating into pure violence; scary, but in character. And
the empty, spent rage, dismissal of the second vamp was a nice contrast.
Interesting attempt to organize her thoughts, from the "Cordelia" test
for lesbianism to the worries that Willow only wanted her for her body.
(Shame, Buff! Willow doesn't do that. Although you could argue that it
might better for her if everyone she dated wasn't "The Love of Her
Life")

Introspective Xander was a good touch; the anger-prone are always most
soulsearching after an outburst. (Although I, like Buffy, found little
fault with the "I told you so" speech.) Glad to see he's not as dense
as we thought; he always did know how Willow felt about him (see "The
Pack"). But we do hope he was being dense with "Willow's not looking to
date you" in "Prophecy Girl", though :)

The "better-no-man-for-Buffy than not me" rationalization is very Xander
("Cordelia's much better for you than Angel!"), although my W/X 'shipper
protests that Season 2 is all about Xander realizing that he **does**
love Willow like that, from "vampire interruptus" to "not the kind of
girl" to "you'd rather be" to sudden Oz-jealousy to "it's not that I
don't find you attractive" to "I love you", it's all about his admitting
his true feelings and not hiding behind "best friends" any more. But,
heck, he's got Cordy, so let him be gallant and get out of the way.

Hmm, wonder if he'll play matchmaker. But as interesting as Xander was,
I'm thinking it's going to be an even more interesting day of school for
Buffy and Willow...
