Ah, the advantages of being Canadian and being able to go to bars at the age of 19. But anyway, two questions; first, is the legal age 21 in all states? If not, which states are different. Second, what is the age of majority (when you can legally buy porn) in California? I've read that the age ofmajority is 17 in New York, and I know the age of majority is 18 in Canada(duh, I'm Canadain), is it different in other states?

21 in California. You may remember the bit about Willow asking how
Xander can bartend when he isn't old enough to drink, and Xander
producing the fake ID.

Indeed, I fanwank one of the more annoyingly preachy exchanges in "Beer
Bad"  

(Giles: I cannot believe you served her that beer.
Xander: I didn't know that it was cursed!
Giles: You knew that it was beer!)

as not being a stupid blanket anti-alcohol statement from Giles (who
likes his whiskey, after all), but rather a reproach to Xander for
serving Buffy because she was underage. So, yep, they're all underage
in Season 4, and indeed up until "Bargaining, Part 1", at least.
