RE: Fic: Seeing Red (parts 1-3/?) W/B C/XNC17
Thanks, Dan, as always for the great feedback.
You win on the cleverness scale for disposing of vamproduction team
foes. I guess I just kind of lump them all together into MartiJoss.
Nevertheless, glad you liked it.
When Cordelia was enjoying Willow's embarrassment, it wasn't a hatred
thing, just schadenfreude. Cordelia being Cordelia, enjoying the
embarrassment because turning away would be tactful- and we know how she
feels about that! (OT regarding post clothes fluke, don't forget the
whole
leaving-Willow-locked-in-a-cage-so-She-could-lecture-her-re:-boyfriend-s
tealing.) I can, however see how you might think otherwise with what I
wrote, so I'll have to clear that up in a later chapter. As for
Willow's bitch references to Cordelia, there is something else afoot
there that I'm considering exploring- but it wouldn't be for quite a
while. I'll just say her issues with Queen C. aren't necessarily
canonical.
As for Ick- I have to say I'm a little Icked by it as well. I've read
worse torture fics (some much, much worse!) and I have to say I find
them unpleasant (So why do I read them? Well, I tend not to anymore) and
even haunting at times. I hope no-one is haunted by this one. I just
couldn't let ripper kill him easily. One reason is that it would be too
anticlimactic. "Oh Angelus's dead, lets all frolic in the grass!" No,
there had to be some angst, and some issues to explore. Plus there's
the need for some closure since I plan to have Giles move on to someone
else in a time frame that might otherwise seem too brief to be
believable. (It's already written- and I don't have the heart not to
use it.) It won't be a couple of days or anything- but it will happen
before the school year's out.
Ok, I've given enough away for today (rhyme unintentional)
Thanks again for the great feedback. I look forward to seeing your
responses to what I write. (no more cheating though! I expect detailed
feedback on every chapter! <g>)

Bear,
1. Hilarious disclaimer, and I couldn't help but laugh at your working
out your "issues" in the cemetery.
But why did you just post the edited version? What happened to:
(Boy, can I run a joke into the ground or what?)
2. Nice work in the hospital scene, with Willow's tension re: Joyce
playing into things with Buffy and vice versa.
My only complaint would be that Willow and Cordy had actually made up by
the middle of "Phases" (the scene got cut, but that's why they've gone
from "1-800-I'm-dating-a-skanky-ho" to complaining about their men at
the Bronze). Will might still have some buried resentment, but Cordelia
really grew marvelously; did you realize that "Halloween" ("And you
went mental when?") is the last time she ever insults Willow? (I don't
count the flubbed compliment in "Becoming Part 1"; she meant well.)
Even post-Clothes Fluke, she takes it all out on Xander (and, oddly,
Buffy), not the girl who kissed him. So I thought the tension there was
a little high, and Cordy a little too Season 1. But you still write a
marvelous Xander.
3. Ick. Deserved, but ick. (Although, actually, I might have had
Giles cut Angel's heart out with a chain saw. [We know he has one
{"Fear, Itself"}.]) I guess the librarian doesn't mind having to get
vampire out of the carpet...
Keep up the good work (even the ick, if need be),
Dan
