Re: OT: converting multiregion DVDs
The Regional converter is definitely a good deal, and yes it works. They sell them at the store I work at, they also sell the internet converter as well though it cost 40, but they both work wonderfully. It's a great deal

up on the first two seasons of "Angel" on UK DVD. During my search I found
reference to an item for the Playstation2 called a "multi-region converter".
It's $20, and is a CD which supposedly "unlocks" the regional playback
abilities of the PS2 so DVDs from any region can be played on them. It's a
much better deal than paying well-over $100 for a full DVD player,
considering I already have one that works fine (except for the multi-region
capabilities).
My question is, has anyone tried one of these multi-region converters for
PS2? They seem to have been around for months, but I can't find any reviews
of them or user comments. I'm not really concerned about possibly wasting
$20, I'm concerned about wasting the money on an imported DVD set only to
find I can't watch it after all. It would be very frustrating to order
seasons 1 through 5 from Australia or UK and only be able to fondle the
boxes.
