"I don't know how you have done this for so long, Will. There is
two of us and we still can't get it together", Buffy asked running
into Sara for what felt like the hundredth time that morning. Buffy
and Sara had been running around for the last hour trying to get
breakfast cooked and lunches made.
"You have to have a system and a plan. You guys don't plan ahead",
Willow told her from her wheelchair at the table.
"System, there is a system and you haven't shared with us", Buffy
laughed.
"Yup and I not going to either. I girl has to have some mystery."
Sara finished cooking the last of the breakfast as Buffy set the
table. Sara walked over to the stereo and grabbed the remote and
jumped up and sat on the island, "Hey watch this".
"You are so cruel", Willow giggled. Suddenly the sounds of Pink
Floyds The Wall came blaring out of the speakers. They all laughed at
the sounds of feet hitting the floor above them. Jen and Dawn were
the first ones down, followed closely by Xander and Anya. Gail and
Giles were the last ones to make their appearance. Sara turned down
the music and smiled, "Good morning all. Better choice Old Man."
"Why can't I have a normal Mom who just stands at the bottom of the
steps and yells? I thought the parents were supposed to tell the kid
to turn it down", Jen asked.
"Most parents aren't as cool as me either". Jen moaned at her mom and
the group just laughed. The rest of breakfast went by as Giles tried
to explain the finer points of Pink Floyd to the younger crowd.
"Sorry Giles I never understood them either unless I was high", Sara
confessed.
"Sara?
"Doc..
"What"?
"Young children in the room", Buffy said and pointed to the teens at
the table.
"Like they would be dumb enough to do drugs with a witch and two
slayers in the house. Besides I am not going to lie about my life to
anyone. I know they are smarter than that."
"Ok on that note we have to get ready for school", Jen said dragging
Dawn from the room, " And she thinks she is cool". Giles clears his
throat trying to get everyone attention, "Sara I know that I told you
I would not say anything but I really need their help on this."
"Rupert, I guess it is time to talk", Sara nodded for him to
continue. Giles began to fill the gang in on Sonce and the slaughter
of the witches.
"Giles, they are one of the most powerful group of witches in the
world", Willow said.
"I know that's what makes this so disturbing. The council hasn't come
up with anything yet. We really need to come up with something. We
have no idea about when he plans on doing this so it could be any day
now."
"Well I guess it is research night tonight", Xander sighed, "Just
when you think things are going to be a little normal".
"No such luck, babe", Anya told him and pulled him from the kitchen.
"So Doc, how long have you known about this", Willow asked.
"Since the day we found out about the you being pregnant."
"What", Buffy yelled, " And you didn't think that it was something
you ought to tell us". Gail and Giles sensing the girls need to talk
excused themselves from the room.
"I know I should have told you but there just haven't been the right
time. With the pregnancy, then the other thing, and then Willow
accident, there just wasn't the right time"
"Doc, you have to give us some credit here. We have been fighting
these kinds of things for over six years now. We are not children
that need protecting", Willow told her girlfriend.
"I know but I don't want to lose you", Sara sighed.
"But that is what is going to happen if you don't at least let us
help. We are talking end of the world here, you can't do it alone.
Now no more secrets, ok. I told you once we don't do well trying to
keep things from each other", Buffy said looking a little green and
running from the room.
"Morning sickness".
Sara chuckled, " Looks that way. How are you feeling, I haven't seen
you get sick in a while."
"It's weird, since the accident, I haven't gotten sick at all".
"It might have something to do with the spell to help with the pain".
"Well can you do it for me"; Buffy asked walking back into the
kitchen, "Cause I am so not liking this barfing every morning, noon
and night. I had to run out on my class yesterday, talk about
embarrassing. Why do they call it morning sickness anyway when it
happens all the time?"
"Aww, my poor baby, and no I can't do it for you."
"Why", Buffy whined.
"Weren't you the ones that used to get on Willow case for fixing
everything with magic"?
"Yeah I guess but I still don't like it. How do women do this"?
"Hey it won't be to much longer before it goes away for a while".
"Won't come soon enough for me", Buffy said. Willow and Sara laughed
at their pouting girlfriend
