And I think that your diagnosis of the kids being smarter than the
adults--in a larger sense, an anti-authoritarian way of the show siding
with the disempowered--is a reason that some people aren't too thrilled
at Principal Hardon, no matter how "hot" others think D.B. Woodside may
be. Oooh, the principal works hand-in-hand with Buffy to protect the
kids from the evil things they're too immature and stupid to
understand...yeah, that's empowering. Between him and Big Daddy Giles
riding to save the day, I guess all us weakling kids and misfits and
gays and girls should just lay back and let the wise men run our lives
because they know best.

Mind you, Principal Woodie hasn't been fully clued in yet, nor is it
certain he's the benevolent dictator he seemed in the premeire, but that
looks like where they're going so far. Okay, nerds bad, gays bad, women
weak, principal good, Buffy must be a mommy, got it. Anything else,
Joss, you darned subversive rebel, you?

PS--no, I don't know why the PlotConvenienceCoven didn't take an
interest before. I won't know why Giles just doesn't "beam in" to solve
every problem this year, either. (Crap writing, anyone?)
