Re: Snippet - Realisations

Anne-Lise,

Loved, loved, loved the snippet. Especially the last line.

Re my question about the end of "Convergent Slayers 2", I've got nothing
against mystery, but I don't get the feeling that there was supposed to
**be** a mystery, so my confusion still worries me. I have a feeling
I'm supposed to know why Kyoko is under the house as surely as I'm
supposed to know that Spike protected Dawn because he promised Buffy he
would. Articulating a key plot point is a different thing from the
question of whether the plot point has the characters acting in
character. (And for the record, I don't have a problem with Spike
playing Dawn-sitter--you don't need a soul to wish you hadn't failed
someone you wanted to still be with you, or to make grand gestures in
their memory. Heck, maybe Spike was protecting Dawn just to build up
his own ego, to prove to himself that he was capable of doing what Buffy
asked, and that therefore she should have loved him and it's not his
fault she's dead.)

On the sensing thing, I wouldn't care a toss about Buffy not being able
to sense Kyoko, except that you made it seem that she *had* been able
to, and suddenly lost contact. Since Kyoko had not in fact turned to
dust, as Buffy assumed, I don't know why her dropping through to below
the house would have broken a psychic contact like that.

Anyway, that's "a history that's in the past". (And none of that
stopped me from enjoying the fics.) Hope you're enjoying your trip and
look forward to much more fic as you return to Aus.

Best wishes,

Dan

PS (just because I'm obsessive this way)--Actually, Buffy's
Angel-spotting record is fairly good, considering that it's pointed out
right from the beginning that she lacks the vamp-detection sense a
Slayer should have. She picks up on him four times ("Welcome to the
Hellmouth", "The Harvest", "When She Was Bad" and "Forever"), feels him
two other times that she (incorrectly) shrugs off as Angel-missage
("Angel", "Pangs"), twice misses him because her mind is just generally
wandering ("Some Assembly Required", "Earshot"), and three times doesn't
notice him because she's too involved in her job (inspecting the
graveyard in "Reptile Boy", fighting in "The Dark Age" and "Becoming,
Part 1").

Really, the only time she was on the lookout for him and he was still
able to stalk her was "Passion". And clearly she was distracted there
because she and Willow were finally on a date... :)
