I understand that's the show's official position, but, like others
before me, I'm skeptical.

Perhaps asking for a fee that they knew FOX wouldn't pay was Amber's
agent's way of getting Amber out of having to play the part without
giving her a rep for turning down work and being "difficult"?

PS--money issues have been dealt with before. About a year ago, Marti
Noxon was bewailing the fact that she couldn't get Marc Blucas back for
a guest shot--yet come "As You Were", there Riley was. (Although, to
be fair, I think that was more about scheduling than $, but it's still
similar.)
