Re: Question for moderators
Greywolf,
As I understand it (and those of longer standing in the group than I,
please chime in if I'm wrong), Rod's had a policy of allowing OT fics so
as to encourage writers to stay true to the list and the B/W 'ship even
if they occasionally go into other pairings. Hence the presence of B/F
and (before they were canon) W/T fics, despite Rod's personal distaste
for both pairings.
I personally am fine with OT couples (as I think I've mentioned before,
I myself have posted B/F, W/C, and B/C here), as long as the author
doesn't let them become a majority of his/her output. (Since this is
still a B/W list, after all.) I also would advise against the use of
canon pairings, since they have their own lists and fandoms elsewhere.
For the fic in question, I would suggest posting it, but using an "OT
FIC" tag in the subject line. Also make the lead character and pairing
(if any) clear in the header, and make sure to post a warning for any
chapters containing heterosexual activity, as that's rather outside the
usual thing here. (If it's just a "Xander's adventures" story rather
than a sexual tale, that's different, but I recall you were fond of
NC-17, so...)
Having said all that, I would suggest that you wait a few days, and see
if Rod or Kimber have a contrary opinion, since "Owner" outranks
"Moderator". This is merely my best guess, based on a discussion that
took place almost 3 years ago.
Dan
PS-- Just because I've been asked to present a moderator's view doesn't
mean that other opinions aren't valid. If anyone else has a viewpoint,
pro or con, please let me know.
