Fic: Dampened Spirits (1/1)

I'm not dead yet. I'm not!

Anne-Lise,
Away too long... :<

--

Rain pattered against the window as the storm raged outside. A peal
of thunder echoed ominously and woke the Slayer from her light
slumber. Buffy liked rain.
Heavy rainfall, like snow, was a rarity in Sunnydale. But when it
came, it came with a vengeance; The rain drove everyone indoors,
everything indoors. Which, Buffy reflected, is a good thing when you
live on a Hellmouth. The rain lashed against the recently repaired
windows, mesmerising her for a moment with the faint patina of shapes
forgotten.
A lightning flash lit up the room, momentarily, and Buffy saw
Willow standing beside her bed; eyes wide and staring.
"Willow?" Buffy queried, but no answer.
"Willow!" She called out once more. Willow, however, continued to
stand immobile. Buffy climbed out of bed, her Slayer senses on full
alert. She noted the slow rise and fall of Willow's chest and the
glazed expression on her face.
Buffy stifled a giggle. Willow was so cute when she walked in her
sleep, and yet she could be so very dangerous without conscious
control of her magic. Slowly, Willow's hands raised, causing Buffy to
rapidly consider her options. Vaguely, she remembered hearing
warnings about not waking sleepwalkers. What they were, exactly, she
couldn't recall. Maybe their legs fell off, or something.
Buffy shivered as Willow's hands brushed against her skin. One hand
pressed against her right thigh, the other lightly caressed her
cheek. She swallowed, feeling her cheeks burn.
Emotional turmoil! Buffy recognised the feelings threatening to
engulf her. Love battled anxiety, desire fought restraint.
Willow slid closer and embraced Buffy completely. Although the hug
felt more sisterly than erotic, tears dripped from Buffy's eyes as
barriers fell. She stroked Willow's hair. Such soft, silky hair!
Buffy's eyes burned as she closed them, in perfect counterpoint to
the blush that made her cheeks glow and the fires of passion that
raged between her legs.
A cry forced its way past Buffy's lips, a sound somewhere between a
moan and a sob, and with it Willow's face turned, slightly, and Buffy
tilted her head to share a kiss.
The kiss was everything Buffy had ever dreamed it would be. Her
whole body shook with suppressed desire. Since Angel, Riley,
dalliances with Spike... She needed release, needed to love and be
loved by the red-headed goddess who'd graced her life with needed
perfection.
Willow's breathing quickened as they broke the kiss. Was she
finally awake? How would she react to waking in the sensual embrace
of her best friend?
Buffy tried to extricate herself from Willow's hold, but she
realised there was no gentle way to do so. She ceased her half-
hearted struggles. Willow's perfect lips parted once more, and
somehow Buffy found the strength to resist her carnal urges.
"Willow?" she entreated. "Willow...?"
Willow mumbled incoherently and Buffy realised she was still deeply
asleep.
"I love you," Willow whispered, unexpectedly, and Buffy's heart
threatened to either stop or explode.
"I love you too," Buffy replied softly.
And Willow smiled.

*

Willow awoke to find herself standing upright, which was kinda
annoying. Her nocturnal wanderings worried her that one day she'd
walk right out the front door and who knows where she'd end up?
She also found herself waking up in the arms of another, and being
kissed. And not by Kennedy.
She was being kissed by Buffy.
Buffy's eyes were closed, which was probably a good thing, as the
range of emotions that crossed Willow's face would have scarred her
forever. Foremost was shock, maybe a hint of betrayal. Then
realisation, perhaps...
What had started as a kiss became something else, a desperate
struggle for closeness, to feel the flesh beneath fingers and
caressed by lips and body. A sudden desire to become one.
Behaviour which would not passed unnoticed in an overpopulated
house full of sexually-curious females.
And Xander.
Xander's cough has the same effect on the slayer and the witch as a
bucket of cold water.
"Hey," he said, bringing their attention to the gathering crowd of
grinning girls. "I hope you brought enough for everybody."
Willow's blush became a gasp as she saw Kennedy's drawn face
standing at the back of the crowd of SITs.
"Kennedy!"

*

Kennedy turned, and managed maybe 3 feet before running into solid
slayer.
"Hey K, what's the beef?"
Faith rubbed sleep from her eyes. She was still recovering from the
after-effects of Orpheus in her system, and a gruelling recovery from
a coma and the drive from LA.
Kennedy, to be fair, made a valiant attempt to recover from the
sight of Faith in a bra and panties.
Made from red leather.
Not so Xander, but he was slowly getting used to semi-clad women
walking around and not noticing him. Maybe he *was* turning gay!
"Hey," he asked weakly as he dabbed at the nosebleed. "Anyone want
coffee?"

*

The rain faded with the night, and dawn brought about a warmth that
dried even the dampest of spirits. Just like the real Dawn, who was
bringing about a warmth to Kennedy. Good job her sister's too
preoccupied to notice...
Kennedy shrugged off the loss of Willow to Buffy. Hell, Buffy had
first dibs anyway, she figured. After all, they'd been an item long
enough; even if neither of them'd realised it 'til now! Besides,
Dawn's fingers were much more satisfying. And she'd no scary black
mojo baggage.
Kennedy sighed, as Dawn's ministrations brought her near climax,
and she found herself thinking back to the night, and to Faith's red
panties...

*

Faith herself was fast asleep in bed. Xander, however, lying naked
beside her, was about as far from sleep as it would be possible to
get without a transfusion of pure caffeine...
"I prefer drivin' stick," she'd whispered into his ear last night,
after he'd inadvertently given her semi-naked body his full approval.
She'd noticed, and steered him into her cubby.
He grinned, trying to imagine Anya's reaction when (and if!) she
found out, and grinned more when he realised he just didn't care.
Finally, a slayer loved him!

*

And the sun rose and shone upon Willow, and her hair and smile
reflected the new day, and new hope as she gazed into Buffy's adoring
eyes.
She'd delete the cybersex emails from Fred later.
If she got chance.

*

End.
