FIC: Cold reunion 3/?

Ok this part is a little lighter. I'm really not sure about this one.
I really need some opinions good or bad. It just kept rolling around
and it wouldn't stop. My ex has been reading it for me and changing a
few things but I just don't know. Come I can take it, hell I think I
can take anything at this point. Jen

Dawn listened to Giles explain what he and the gang had found out
but her mind kept wondering to the red head in the back. Finally when
everyone was to busy talking to notice she slipped through the door
to the training room. She stood back and watched as she hit the bag
over and over again.
"Nice music", Dawn said coming farther into the room.

"Yeah, nothing like a little heavy metal to fry the few brain cells I
have left", Willow said and sat down on the couch along the wall.
Dawn took one look at the red heads hands and grabbed the first aid
kit before sitting down beside her.

"You know I think Buffy has this tape stuff she uses when she wants
to beat the crap out of something", Dawn said and then began to clean
the wounds on her hands, "This is going to sting a little."

"I think I can handle it, Kid."

"Do you have memories of me? I mean I remember you but do you, about
me", she asked finding herself drawn to the woman beside her.

"Yeah, I remember that you used to love to sit and listen when me and
your sister would talk. She used to get so pissed off, I always
thought that it would've been cool to have a younger sister."

"Yeah sometimes I thought Buffy didn't love me. It's really weird
knowing that all that was fake and now since mom she has to raise me."

"I'm sorry about your mom. She was great, so much better then my own.
Does it feel fake, all the memories", Willow asked?

"No, not really."

"Then why dwell on it then. You're here and you might as well make
the most of it."

"But people are getting hurt because of me."

"No not because of you but because of that hell bitch. Come on kid,
give us some credit here, it'll be ok."

"So how come your not all tweedy and stuffy like Giles", Dawn
giggled, finding she liked Willow.

"Tweed makes me itchy and I am so just capable of being stuffy."

"She missed you so much. I remember when she came back and found out
that you were gone, she sat on her bed and cried. I'd never seen her
cry before. They found out the next day that you were going to school
somewhere else. I found her that night sitting on the floor mumbling
that it was a good thing over and over. I'm not sure she has ever
been the same since. I think she realized then how much she loved you
and that she had screwed up by running away."

"Kid, I don't think she would like it a lot if she knew you were
telling me all this."

"Yeah probably not but if your little sister can't be annoying who
can. Are you and Faith together", Dawn asked curious about the
relationship between the red head and the dark slayer.

"We were for a while but it's complicated."

"Do you love her?"

"Yeah but not like she deserves to be loved. I don't think I'll ever
not love her but I just can't return the feelings she has for me.
Faith is always there for me no matter what I did or do. Sometimes I
can be a real bitch sometimes."

"No really, I kind of like it. Do you still love Buffy?"

"You ask way to many questions. Didn't you know curiosity killed the
cat? ", Willow said and started to pace the floor.

"Buffy always said I reminded her of you when I start asking a lot of
questions and you're avoiding the question."

"I don't know really, I have been so angry at her that I never
stopped to see if there was love still there."

"Willow she didn't know, do you think it's fair to hold that against
her?"

"I don't know kid, maybe not but that's not why I'm here, remember.
We're here to save your ass form a hell-god, not dissect my love
life. So tell me about this Tara girl", Willow laughed.

"I thought we weren't going to talk about your love life", Dawn
teased her.

"She's cute but I little to shy looking for me", Willow mock glared.

"Last year we lost our voices because of these ugly fairy tale guys.
Tara was in this Wicca group at the college. Buffy had kinda scoped
it out thinking maybe someone in it might be useful someday. Tara
turned out to be the only one who had any potential. Well anyway Tara
was running from them and Buffy found her. After Buffy slayed them,
she had a lot of explaining to do. Tara stuck around and has been a
big help. I like her a lot; she was so good to both of us after mom
died. Buffy just isn't quite ready to be a parent. She's stuck
somewhere between being a teenager and being an adult. Sometimes it
ain't pretty. How come you're the same age but seem so much more
grown up?"

"Life, kid, I had no choice but to dive head first into adulthood.
Don't worry though she'll get there until then you got me."

Faith had followed the `key' when she had made her escape into the
training room. She wiped the tear out of her eye, she wasn't sure if
the tear was from the sadness of hearing the words her ex had said
about not loving her the way she should be or the happiness that
Willow seemed to be connecting with someone other then her. She felt
a hand rest on her shoulder and turned to look into the blue eyes.

"I'm sorry, that had to hurt to hear all that", Tara said giving her
a shy smile.

"Yeah a little but all I've ever wanted was for her to be happy. I
knew she was in love with Buffy from almost the beginning. Look at
her, I know that it might not make any sense to you but I've never
seen her get close to someone like she is with that kid", Faith said
and pointed to the pair sitting on the couch, laughing and tickling
each other. Tara studied the two closely for a minute then gasped.

"What", Faith asked?

"I always wondered where it came from", Tara whispered.

"Where what came from?"

"I read Dawn aura when we first found out she was the key and I
always wondered where the differences came from. Buffy's is all
light, white, pale blues. The way it was described was that Dawn was
made form Buffy but I just figured that the difference was from
Dawn's parents but I never saw the colors that Dawn has in Mrs.
Summers or Mr. Summers. I didn't tell anyone because I didn't want to
worry anyone and we don't really know how Dawn was made, it could
have been anything. I knew that if I ever saw it I would be able to
pick out the match", Tara explained. Faith followed Tara line of
vision and realization set in.

"Red", Faith whispered.

The flash of light from the training room brought everyone flying
through the door. Standing in front of the group was a shimmering
robed figure, "Very good my child, I wondered how long it would take
you to figure it out."
