Well, I got good news and bad news.  The good news is that Angel
will be back for a fifth season, and will remain on its Wednesday
night timeslot.  At least it's not being moved around the
schedule.

This is good news, although I'm waiting until the final
WB announcements before I really believe it. No offense
to you, Kirayoshi, since I've seen this news elsewhere
as well, but I don't trust the networks. At all. And
changes right up until the literal last minute are not
unheard of.

The bad news; James Marsters has signed on as a regular cast
member on Angel.

OK...that's _BAD_ news. I'm running numerous eps behind
on Angel right now, and have been planning to catch up.
But if Spike is coming to the show, I may just drop Angel
now. Spike should have been staked NO LATER than 'Harsh
Light of Day.' I suppose we'll get a quick retcon that
the whole "becoming human" prophecy was about Spike all
along, he's just _SO_ much more deserving and all.

Go ahead and stake Angel now, Cordy's gone as well. It's
time for "Spike Goes to LA" on the WB, starting this fall.
Letting a one-shot character grow to destroy one show
obviously was not enough. 8-(

Ack! Ptui! This news has really left a bad taste in my
mouth. 8-(

Joss, if you're out there, please have Spike lose the soul. Make
him evil again.  The last thing we need is two souled vamps on
the same damn show!

If they go this route I _might_ be willing to give them
the benefit of the doubt. But I would be really surprised
if they do. The top brass at ME just love Spike, he's _SO_
wonderful and all. I'm surprised they haven't pitched a
Spike spin-off...or maybe they did. The Faith idea got show
down after Eliza got cast for the Fox pilot (whatever it
is they're calling it this week), but who knows what else
was considered.

At least it looks like Connor's not coming back next season.  He
got a happy ending in the season finale.  Joss giving a happy
ending.  Whodathunkit?

If it gets rid of the annoying little git, I'll take it.
Him burning forever in a hell dimension would be preferable,
but if happiness is what it takes to lose him, so be it.
